The Mini engined GTM Coupe is getting a modified gearbox fitted which will have a front entry gear shift to suit the engine location in the rear of the car.
This video shows how to assemble a Mini Spares Evolution Molybdenum cross-pin differential. The differential is using an existing 3.647:1 (17/62) ratio crown-wheel and pinion.

Hi Lloyd, it had only taken me 17 years to get around to fixing the GTM! The (3.647:1) diff ratio will better suit the car for speed events compared to the original (3.210:1) ratio. Also reducing the tyre profile from 70 to 50 which will help the overall gearing.

Hi Niall, yes I have recorded the gearbox mods and this should be in my next video on assembling the gearbox.

would this diff be suitable for a chain drive conversion what type of bhp will they take.

Yes, I have used these differentials in chain drive applications. However you need to machine a special sprocket mounting plate with the bearing spigot as you will not be using the crown wheel.
