I really appreciate this video. I'm not sure why you didn't configure direwolf as a linux service with stdout written to a user space log, instead of using tmux.

Jason, why not add some print, "waiting for Sound Card connection" during the while loop for soundcard?

One could do that and it would be helpful. In my case though, it runs completely headless once the build is complete.

Excellent tutorial. Would you be happy and willing to do a new updated Video on a Digipeater Build like this video but not as a Tracker? 73

The only real difference is how the beacon is sent and the digipeat line. Instead of the TBEACON, you would want to use a PBEACON as described in this video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/odKlf5SS2ajYh6s.htmlfeature=shared&t=467 and set turn on the digipeat option shown in the same video here kzfaq.info/get/bejne/odKlf5SS2ajYh6s.htmlfeature=shared&t=745 You could also remove the GPSD line in the config file if you aren't using GPS which usually isn't required for a digipeater. The auto start script in this video would still work but leave out the piece of the script that checks for GPS if in fact you aren't using one.

Oh, and don't forget that if you followed the build tutorial for the tracker, you still have the original direwolf.conf file that we saved as a backup during the build. You can always use it for reference.

For the most part, either is fine. I just find myself working more with tmux lately.
