HFY is a story/series that takes a “human element” in either humanity or an “other” (race/species or object) that exists in a “setting” (future or other world/universe) with varying levels of culture, technology, society and history that help show in some shape or form the potential good or bad for humanity’s race/culture. In These stories Humans are often referred to as Human, Humanity, Deathworlder, Hellwolder in reference to the human planet of origin , Earth. This planet is seen by most of the universe as a place where only death and chaos can survive.

In these Stories we normally View humans like the other races view orcs in a Fantasy Novel. We (Humans) share the same characteristics and personalities as orcs. Humans are normally treated as the outsiders and barbarians. Humans tend to be underestimated as well in these stories. Unlike Humanity Feck Yea , these don't always put a positive spin on humans\humanity sometimes looking at the darker side of human and humanity from the perspective of aliens.

I still find it hilarious that we though Komodo Dragons were venomous, then we thought they had septic bites, then we figured out that they actually have _both._ Edit: upon further research, apparently the septic bite thing is a myth? I'm finding sources that say both, but more of them say that it's a myth, so it seems likely that it is.

The only difference between toxin and venom is that a venom is a toxin that's injected by a means that is naturally developed by the animal. A venom is a toxin but a toxin is not always a venom.

Oh, in later stories on this line, the Space Otters are tech wizards and stealth operatives known for sabotaging digital structures and comms. Humans had a hacker encounter with them... they were found out with ease, and their attempts at implanting a virus in the human network resulted in the human network getting stronger and faster. No other race saw them until the Human Ambassador pointed them out. That was hilarious. Because to them, that's life. To us, That's a Tuesday

I have said a few times that I wish we had some animators amongst Agro's fans. I'm sure the authors of the selected stories would love to see them animated. I've seen some really good fan animation of different shows, like Star Trek, Star Wars, and even some animes. I guess if I ever win the lottery, I'll get a studio started.

I needed this. ALSO! Did you know that after even FURTHER study Komodo Dragons have been reclassified as Venomous once again due to the most recent round of tests finding their Venom's Properties to have to many anomalous properties to be a Symbiotic Bacteria?! Though their mouths are still incredibly dirty which aids in the Venom's affects. Edit: Additional info I'd remembered the second I hit post.

Just so people know, if stinged by a man o war, immediate treatment is needed, most end in a hospital and there have been cases of fatality, no one goes into the water if those are spotted, word of advice in Portugal, never scream caravela, it's the Portuguese name for the man o war, if you actually haven't seen one, they are bluish, you are going to have lots of very angry people around you fast.

First of all a man-o-war is a siphonophore not a jellyfish. It's a communal organism not a single animal. Secondly (some species of) box jellyfish are way worse than a man-o-war, without treatment a sting will kill you and even if treated you're in for days of unbearable pain. Worst part is they are about the size of a grape, almost invisible and present in basically every ocean so anywhere you swim in salt water you stand a chance of getting stung by one.

Worth noting, because I don't see any comments about this, but the Man-O-War is not a jellyfish. They are visually similar, but the man-o-war is a colony of multiple smaller animals which specialize for different roles. Edit: hadn't scrolled far enough.

I would LOVE to see all of them. Especially the cross between a werewolf and a komodo dragon, and a spider decked out in bling seems like it would be cute too! But the giant bee-wasp thing would be cool too, I do like bees. Too bad there's no sentient giant snakes on here- my imaginary friend when I was a kid was a 5-foot long green snake, like a python or a boa constrictor. (I know, I got along with other humans so badly even my imaginary friend wasn't human.)

oddly i am the reverse, jelly fish would get the butt of alot of..... tenteical jokes, and the spider with a top hat and bling would get a pass, tho god forbid he come out with a cowboy hat and 8 pairs of snakeskin boots. How to avoid freaking out humans: Don't take slaves, especially human slaves. Don't hurt or kill children. Ever. Don't kill civilians in military conflict. There may be rough patches here and there, but if you avoid those big three, you should be fine in the long run.

The idea of not killing civilians is ridiculous. Sometimes it’s unavoidable. The war in Israel is an example. Lots of children starving, we’re told by a media that carefully avoids admitting this is due to striking Hamas’s logistics. Hospital strikes we’re told teary stories of children and patients being killed as if it was a terror attack. Instead of the truth that they are being used as military bases by Hamas and have tunnel connections into Israeli territory they launch raids through. We’re told of Israeli artillery attacks killing civilians, omitting that these strikes are counter-battery fire against Hamas rocket and cannon artillery firing into Israeli population centers. You see what I mean? Even just blowing up a tank factory is going to kill a lot of civilians. What you should say is not to intentionally target civilians themselves, as that is simply killing people for no reason. Although, being the recruits and logistics of a military and paying taxes into the military makes how much civilians aren’t valid military targets sometimes questionable to a degree.

5:20 Wait, did you just say Praying Mantises are scary? They don't eat people (or even bite), don't look like venomous arthropods, and have the most cute and expressive mannerisms of any invertebrate I know of (except maybe octopi and jumping spiders). Mantids are awesome, and I have never met a single person who was afraid of them! On the other hand, the Olivarkis are STILL within the range of frickin-huge-but-still-plausible spiders at only FORTY-FIVE CENTIMETER LEG DIAMETER! (1.5 times the leg-width of the Goliath Birdeater Tarantula) Now, I love spiders (conceptually) because of their coolness factor, what they can do, and Spider Man, but I STILL have bad dreams on occasion because of this primordial aversion. On the other hand, I would love to have an intelligent, friendly spider friend to help me overcome this fear.

The kimoto dragon does have venom glands. The bacteria thing is a myth.

I thought the komodo dragon had both plus some? In fact, I am fairly certain they have their own venom, enough bacteria to kill you in horrible ways but slowly, and enough remaining/festering and fermenting food remnants stuck between their teeth to kill you with poison. So they are venomous, septic and toxic.
