It's still complicated about track limits cause at tertre rouge you can abuse the apex and sometimes not. In time trial i really try to abuse the track limits to the maximum but in race i never cut except the Ford chicanes but thats it..

Yup, but that's based on the A.I. calculation gain. I've had the first mulsanne chicane where I show in this video you can cut but I got the perfect entry nailed the exit and because I had slipstream it gave me a penalty xD! But in general the ones I show should be fine.

That apex kerb at Indianapolis is like a 1-up container floating exactly where jumping to get it will kill you.

This explained it so well thank you. Can't wait to get home and do the Gr. 2 daily again tonight and see if I can keep the evil red box away. Lost my first chance at a podium (I am thoroughly scrub at racing) because I picked up a couple penalties at Tertre Rouge and the first chicane on the Mulsanne last night. Thank you so much!

The real problem with the track limits here is that they are so variable based on speed and inputs. If a real track or race had track penalties dependent on driver input there would be problems. Big shout out for taking the time to explain these to most people. Personally I find that exit on the second mulsanne chicane to be the strangest one. The others I usually know if I'm pushing it.

Agree, I've gone over the second mulsanne chicane thinking I nailed it, no chance of track limit penalty, but nope .5 for seemingly no reason. So frustrating especially when on a possible p.b.

The chicanes on mulsanne straight I find that if you (like you said) cross the white line going into the turn on exit you get a penalty but if you stay inside or outside of the line. No penalty given.

Love that there is a white line at almost every corner that could easily be a consistent track limit, but instead PD have chosen to be fairly random about it... this is a big part of why I haven't bothered with the Daily Races this week.

I think that is one of the more annoying parts, or alternatively the fact most tracks it's the kerbs and then suddenly its 50/50 :O!

Had this happen a lot on my first few races, forgetting where we were on the track coming up to a chicane only to realize as we were at the end of braking zone and would go straight through it. I learnt that by not going straight back onto the track but driving through the chicane/ corner at half speed like you would on an escape route, around 85-90% of the time you will actually be able to avoid an off track pen

Just pretty hard to get full lap together vuz it's such long track and exits of chicanes will be critical

5:33 I think it’s actually only the white line after the kerb that gives you a penalty, you should be able to fully get onto the kerb.

You can get a penalty for cutting Indianapolis too. But you'd have made a slight mistake to have done so.
