These videos are such a breath of fresh air, i played professionally from 2003-2011 and crushed MTTs and cash games. Since come back ive tried to play closer to gto then i did before but found myself so out of my comfort zone playing too tight. Great content and thank u sir

Great video Lex! Does the heuristic for selecting folds apply to 100bb cash games?

This is for rare button opens (how often is it folded to the button?) If there's a single open before you as the button, how do these ranges change? Drastically I'd assume

Hey Lex. Thanks a lot for the free content. But one question: How does the calculation work for knowing that we lose 67bb/100 if we miss these opens?

Question for you: for all of those 8x opens, when called, are you c-betting range here consistently, or are there flops you'd advise checking? I know it's not a black and white answer, but if you can give any general perspective here, just curious what the follow thru to those opens looks like.
@BBZPoker
@BBZPoker 9 ай бұрын
There are some flops to check for sure. It happens more often BTN vs BB than EP vs BB due to the weaker opening range.

Much of what we coach is applicable to live poker. You must have to know when to deviate from the strategy being outlined by us!

How do we know what stage of the tourney each decision is if looking at all btn RFI folds because a RFI strategy at the start of the tourney is going to look different at say 25%left, near bubble etc ??

Can you explain the math behind each open costing 67BB/100? On the GTOwiz most of these bottom of range hands had an EV of around 0.1BB, wouldn't this be 10BB/100? Obviously these are still clear opens, just wondering if I am missing something about the way I interpret GTOwiz
@BBZPoker
@BBZPoker 7 ай бұрын
Sure the bottom of any opening range in a model will be worth approximately zero. That's why they're selected as the bottom and no hands weaker than those hands are opened. What actually happens in the metagame YOU'RE IN can differ pretty dramatically though. What I'm referring to is the actual EV that was won at the bottom of the range in the database itself for Hero. Looking at RFI profitability is something we can measure in databases reasonably well because it's done so much that you build solid samples quickly and all the spots are relatively similar so there's a lower standard deviation. Most professional players should probably be opening wider than theoretical recommendations based on their performance in their actual metagames. In this case the bottom of the range was generating 67bb/100 over a meaningful sample. Not zero.

Im a bit confused when Jordan says this is a 67bb/100 mistake. Doesnt tha imply that folding the hand costs .67bbs? Thats far too high no?
@BBZPoker
@BBZPoker 9 ай бұрын
Lex is making a lot of money at the bottom of his opening range. As are most winning players. Meta-games tend to under-3-bet and under-check-raise and etc. So he’s making a lot more than GTOW’s EV calc would suggest.

what is he talking about saying q7o t8o a2o are losing 50-75bb/100 folding on the button.... its like 10bb/100 at most which is 0.1bb lol (source gtowiz)

In most meta games the bottom of the range makes more than it should at equilibrium. This is offset by the top of the range making less. The net result of players 3-betting/check-raising/over-betting too infrequently. Lex is a big winner with the bottom of the RFI range as are most winning players.
