In the description of the ReedGeek is written that you can clean it after using with a micro-fiber cloth and mineral oil. Do you use that mineral oil?

No I don't. The cloth should be fine enough

Hmmm, didn't learn how to balance a reed. Just how to flatten backs, which tho important, is not exactly challenging. The left to right wings flapping thing is where its trickier. BTW, I have the original, and tho it was never wet, it oxidized. Probably mostly cosmetic really; its showing bits of rust on the flat parts of the body (I don't live anywhere near the tropics!). Pricey but a good tool. Also, if you're flattening reed backs you ought to mention that its state when dry isn't the same as when wet/damp. So shouldn't you flatten when wet/damp?
