HOW To (Base Coat + Clear Coat) your Engine [PAINTING OUTSIDE]

In this video I show you how easy it is to paint your engine with base coat clear coat automotive paint. This will step up your custom truck or car to show car status. I started by using old scrap paint left over from previous projects and we go through step by step. This is a fun way to eliminate waste and save money. Looks good, I'll pop out the freeze plugs and push in some newer ones to give it a little bling, with the black finned covers, and air cleaner

BEAUTIFUL!!! ❤ Surprised you didn’t paint the bell housing at the same time, but that engine shines. Great job and thanks for all the included details. I’ve never used mixing cups before (just a digital scale) but bought the ones you suggested to give it a try. Thanks again man.

Thanks man, yeah I debated on doing it red, but I think im gonna do the bell housing and the 4speed like a cast iron grey or gun metal what do you think? I live those mixing cups, I use them for cleaning parts and all kind of different things. Thanks for watching man!!!!

I just today finished cleaning and painting my bell housing red/orange. I was going to paint the trans black but started looking at grays at your suggestion. I think I’m going with the gun metal. I really like the contrast. Since I’ve got the body off the frame of my 76 Corvette, the entire chassis is getting a complete restoration. Things I never thought about painting are going to get the full treatment. Thanks for the extremely timely video. Much appreciated.

Would you happen to know if metal flake paints or pearls can be used on engine blocks?

Yeah you should be able to, the amout of product you use is usually the down fall on an engine. So keep the coats to a minimum and you should be good.. Ive seen a ton of the lowrider guys use pearls.
