I knew about the basting function on my 790 Pro and my 880 Plus but who knew about stitch #21? I was so excited about that that I forwarded this on to two of my Bernina friends. Yay for new tips and tricks! Thank you so much…

Yes, I had trouble finding #21. I finally enlarged a paused KZfaq video to zoom in and see the stitch number. Best kept secret. 12 classes under my belt with my new 790 Pro and ooops this stitch number has bnot been demonstrated. I did know it existed as I took a test drive on the Pro with Bernina USA " Sew Like a Pro" offered at my local quilt shop. Finding the feature again....almost Mission Impossible. Spread the word. #21BastingStitch

Thank you Gail for all of your How to videos. I have a Bernina 325 and I wanted to know how to use a Darning foot. I really appreciate you!

That standard length straight stitch is really wonky looking. Whatever happened to the renowned Bernina stitch quality? I suppose this is not a big deal for seams that are typically hidden inside garments and such; but I sure wouldn’t want that wonky-looking stitch on my topstitching. I have a Bernina 200E that was upgraded to a 730E with BSR. I use this awesome machine for all my garment sewing because of the reliable, beautiful stitch quality - no wonky straight stitches…ever. I bought this machine used from my local Bernina dealer in 2005 and have never regretted it for a moment. It’s only been back to the dealer for regular servicing - no issues whatsoever. I love it! With regard to the wonky straight you demonstrated on the 700 series machine, do you think perhaps the tension needed adjusting due to the more open weave of the fabric you used?

Calm down. The fabric I was using was really slubby. I needed a heavy fabric to do the basting.

How did you know I was wondering about basting on my Bernina 570. Does this model have these basting capabilities?
