It still amazes that the 2s38 can swim with that much add on armor,but the BMP2D can not.

The 2S38’s side armor should be available to the BMP-3, and it’s just basically steel pontoons filled with air. So the 2S38’s buoyancy is actually increased due to the side armor

The BMP-2 can float only without the 2D modification because it uses trim vanes and the 2D's extra armor to stop machine guns puts too much stress on the vanes for the BMP to float properly. It can still float by continuously moving forward with little maneuvering, but it's not very stable.

You forgot one, it’s called being light. The Sheridan and the IKV-91 had it before Gaijin removed it for no reason and without telling anyone and no one has noticed besides me apparently. Please bring the amphibious thing back to those vehicles.

They require a curtain to be set up to increase the water displacement to float. They also prevent most vehicles from firing.

@@mitri5389 No, they don’t. They quite literally don’t. It was part of the design specs that they had to be amphibious. Not set up a curtain to be amphibious. Call me crazy but o think they understood that back when they made the vehicles.
