thats crazy!! i just made a huge, scary change for my channel and started speaking english. (even though i dont speak perfect and have a strong accent.) This entire video resonated - thank you so much. I took a big leap last year when I started my KZfaq channel for crocheting and overcame many of these fears you mention. Now, I want to do it with photography. This may take me all year hahahha to brave it (and learn how to use my camera that I got for Christmas). What holding me back is my self itself. Sometimes insecurities really affect my emotions and I kinda feel less in terms of my creativity and yeah that's why I always telling my self that don't focus on numbers, but instead focus on a steps to improve your self and creativity to strive more to become talented. I always am thinking about what other people, especially who know me in real life, might think. About me, my art and mainly the fact, that I try to build something up via Instagram. As a New Years Resolution I set this up for myself: Each time I wanna post something I give myself the "what the hell, don't think about it! if they don't like it, they simply can unfollow you" thought. This always pushed me to press that "post" button. It still doesn't help me with my fears and insecurities but I will get there. Everything is a long process and so is my confidence and my art. Thank you Kika for your advice and help (number 4: see the post as an experiment and don't mind the numbers - was my favourite and most helpful) :)

Wow, this really spoke to me. I'm 57 and trying to build a YT channel. It's going slowly due to questioning myself and fear, and then anger with myself that at this point in my life that I am feeling this way. My inner voice/thinking is based on old-fashioned values (as in it's not proper to put yourself on display) and it is a constant fight I have internally. It definitely energizes me, though, when people subscribe and leave nice comments - makes me want to make more - for THEM. (p.s. I still struggle with filming in public...)(p.p.s. Removing emotional attachement helps in every situation. I'm a teacher. It's not an easy job. Especially if you take every child's undone homework personally. When you take emotions and yourself from what you're doing, just stand aside, then plan and act as an experimentator (is that a word?), everything goes much better.

I’m new to your channel and Instagram. I’ve binged watched every single video! Back in the day 80s / 90s my friends and I would go out and take black and white photos of ourselves ‘ each other, the old fashioned way with a roll of film that needed to be developed, usually by a professional, all cost money but we had the “up ourselves” confidence and some fun. Now I have aged, why does it feel so foreign now? It should feel just as natural, what with Instagram and all now. But I hadn’t considered doing it again, until now, now that I’ve binged all your content. Never too old, and time to get over myself! Even with added weight, so many larger girls doing it and look fabulous! I’ve even bought some prompts and shirts :)

Thank you SO much for sharing your knowledge, Kika. One thing holding me back is my age and I really hate saying that. I look at pictures of myself and, well..... yeah, I'm old. Your videos, though, have already helped me with taking pictures that don't make me cringe. Or, at least to edit the photos to something I'm not afraid to share. Thank you for that. This feels really personal....I put a resolution for myself to take space on instagram. I did it with photography...and I've been loving it...I still am amateurish and haven't figured out my style and am worried about what people think about my photos especially since I don't get all those likes anyways but I feel so proud of myself for actually taking a first step. When I finally did it was no big deal to them , most of what we think is in our head. I also decided that I was doing it as a creative adventure for myself , ( as much as it's nice to be acknowledged ) that's not why I do it. I love following creative people as yourself, who teach and inspire ! We adore you Kika , keep being authentic !

I have many super powers :) 1. Going into closed doors (and not passing to the other side). 2. Going more than 12 hrs without sleep on a single mug of coffee - then sleep for 3 hrs and do the cycle again (no I don't run on diesel) 3. Procrastinating A LOT!

This was so helpful! I love that you brought up the super power thing! I do that sometimes when I know I'm going into a social situation that I don't like or where I know I won't be accepted except I usually imagine I'm a magical creature trapped in human form or a favorite book character and that I'm fooling everyone around me and looking for clues.😂 It sounds silly but it's something I love and helps make any situation more fun.
