The Power of Now (How to Be Present)
What is "Power of Now?" or "The Power of Now"? Let's discuss The Power of Now here.
Power of Now:
Some of you may have heard of the well known book The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. In this video I'll be talking about the power of now and how it applies to all of us. Becoming present and developing present moment awareness is really key when it comes to getting the most of out each and every activity in your day. So if you'd like to learn more about the power of now, and how to be present, and how to be present in the moment, then this is a video you'll enjoy.
In this video I discuss meditation and mindfulness, and how they can be used to keep us present, fully utilising the power of now in our day to day lives. I talk a little about how to meditate and how useful it can be in accessing the power of now that we can find within each present moment. Through meditation and mindfulness we can maintain this level of awareness, mastering the art of becoming present throughout the day.
The Power of Now and it's relation to Meditation + How to Meditate:
Meditation is simple really, and it is a valuable tool that can show us how to become present, and fully capture the power of now, the power of the present moment. To meditate, simply sit comfortably, with eyes open or closed, and focus fully on your breathing. Do not worry if you find thoughts occuring, simply ignore them and focus back on your breathing. If you find yourself getting caught up in thought, there is nothing to fear, simply remind yourself of the task at hand, and move back to watching your breathing. This is the power of now at hand, being fully in tune with the present moment.
Being mindful of the Power of Now, and the present moment at all times:
Often we get into autopilot mode and become detached from the moment at how. By reminding ourselves about that power of now, we can seize the moment and become present again. Stop dwelling in the future or past, allow yourself to become present and fully experience the power of now. It will do wonders for your life, and your enjoyment of it.
If you've enjoyed this video about the power of now and Present Moment Awareness, then share it with someone else who may find it useful. If you've enjoyed this video about the Power of Now or found it beneficial, please share your thoughts down below! Oh and remember to keep living in the moment, to fully utilise the Power of Now, and be here now! ;) If you have any comments I'd love to hear them below. What are your experiences with the power of now? What do you do in your day to day life to remain present in the moment?

Ive actually done this when I was 17. I mean actually discipline myself to focus on the momoent at all time for two days and the results were amazing. The second day of trying this i got this sudden rush of focus energy i cant explain i felt like i was aware of absolutely everything that was going on. It was like being high on cannabis but withought the dumbing or lazy affect. You actually activate your brain or turn on a switch. All that lasted for about 30 mins untill i decided to smoke weed and that got me right back into the thought limbo.. ITS REAl and it will leave you curious about your brain potential.

During these rare times there hasn't been anything I could not do or any situation or conversation with anybody that I could not handle. I wish more than anything in the world I could maintain that mindset in a permanent manner,

The only time when I’ve been truly present was 1.when I listen to music sometimes I feel it and it’s like a pull and then a tingly feeling or chills then I think about the chills and I go back. 2.i was in a conversation I was pretty interested about and I was talking about and all of a sudden I noticed my mouth was talking and I was just like in my own world and I realised I was still talking and I was like OH GOD WHAT DID I SAY JUST THEN .

I agree and it is my experience that being thoughtless and aware, responding to a situation with spontaneity and mindfulness works well for mundane things. However, I am a computer programmer and the essence of the job is thinking and planning, a lot. This is one of those things where thinking is necessary. So it is clear to me that there are situations and activities in life where no-mind is the way to go, and other where thinking is the way to go. Now the real challenge I am struggling for years is, how to know when to apply either mind or no-mind? What do you think?
@Daski69
@Daski69 7 жыл бұрын
The point of the video doesn't deny the fact that thinking helps when solving a programming problem. Use thinking to your advantage and don't get lost in a tangential thought tunnel that doesn't contribute to your goals. I dare to guess that struggling for years with an obvious question like that has given you no satisfaction, only stress. Maybe being compulsive like that will set in motion the events that lead to your ultimate success and happiness, probably not though, so just let go. Don't be afraid.

So if we are always in the moment and the present..when do we reflect and learn from our experiences and analyze what just happened to us so we can learn from it? Should this be done during a few hours a day? Any suggestions?
@solveigadanielkute9005
@solveigadanielkute9005 5 жыл бұрын
I think that no matter what, you will still have thoughts coming back to you. Over time it will become easier to control them and stay present if you prefer but if you will, you can accept them by analyzing and reflecting. Or if it's easier to you, I suggest to let yourself reflect on your day in the evening for half an hour for example and then let it go.

So I'd love clarification on this. For example, I think my friends talk about me when I'm not around... like the pink elephant, I let it be there and actually feel it for a while. I did find myself on that topic for atleast a minute before it "exited" aaaaannnnd I felt present again. Is this the concept this video is making? Streamline to that exact thought instead of hiding from it? Then it will go away?

A while ago I experienced trouble breathing, the doctor said it was stress. I had to relearn to breath in order to not take medication. I now yawn a lot with my normal breathing. Often with meditation instructions, they say to focus on my breathing, but I end up just yawning a lot. When I sleep I breath normally. How do you recommend I fix my breathing issue?

Yawning is a good sign……you are resetting / relaxing the vagus nerve…….when you yawn….it is a signal to your brain/body you are SAFE/not STRESSED…..you don’t need help w/ your BREATH….You need to learn to handle STRESS……breathing patterns help this…..also activities help stress(dancing,exercising,painting, ect)

Practicing being present may be the solution to this bad habit.
