The real issue is unregulated insurance companies using a traffic violation as a pretext. This could be your very first ticket after 15 years of driving, zero car accidents and the ticket alone could increase your rates by 30%. It's the insurance racket that's the problem. But I do feel for people who got the insurance increase over 5-10mph difference. When my friends ride motorcycles they are hitting triple digit speeds all over town. There's a sense that you could have died but you got a ticket instead. But small tickets that Jack up prices are ridiculous. Especially if you have a new car and your loan requires full coverage and you can't escape the price hike. Most bikers just drop the insurance down to liability if it becomes an issue.

Got a letter 35 days later, the officer never responded. I got a dismissal letter, along with my bail ($377). Good Luck Guys. PS. I was unsure if I should send my traffic school amount as well so I sent two separate checks just in case. The court sent back my traffic school check, and stated that’s only after found guilty, so not necessary.

Lawyers love going to court to fight speeding tickets as it's VERY lucrative for them to do so. They'll represent multiple people and charge each for travel time to and from as well as time spent in court to include waiting as if it's their only client that day. If the lawyer is fighting 13 tickets for 13 people, their pay is based on this calculus: 13 x 1.5 hours travel, 1 hour wait, and 1 hour minimum to fight the ticket. So $300/hour x 13 x 3.5 = $13,650 plus any filing fees they'd certainly add their "markup". Not bad for a short time in court. I saw a lawyer make a ton of cash one time in court as she "moved to dismiss" eight or nine times in a row as the officer(s) who wrote the tickets wasn't in court and all were dismissed. The judge took her first as well so she didn't have to wait too long. All her clients got the good news that she got their tickets dismissed and were blissfully ignorant as a result.

I got all of you beat. I took a sawzall and cut down the speed limit sign and took a pic of it with the next days date as proof. Told the judge I have never driven though his town before. I got yelled at. But got out of it 😛

I lived in Texas with my mom 2 years, N in the summer of 2019 I went from Rio Grande City Texas to Corpus Christi N I was stopped 2 times on my way home N got home with 2 tickets... When you do a trial by declaration, in California, you have a deadline to submit your response. The officer similarly is given a deadline. What one week before court date???

That's cool. Sidenote....an officer cannot write you a ticket and be a party to the action(testify against you in court). They do it all the time to mess over people tho. No officer testimony, no case and the prosecutor does not have first hand knowledge of what happened so motion the judge to dismiss. Always use question form. Dont make statements. In the video you can see me not making a complete stop for a right turn, but the street was completely empty and I was driving all day (Postmates) it was late at night like in the AM and I was trying to get home. Right now I have two traffic tickets. I got one on October 3rd, 2021 and my court date is on November 2nd, 2021 for running a red light.
