damn no wonder I suck at this game. Half the stuff that happened here was way too fast for me to comprehend at the normal speed of a game. My reflexes are trash 😭. You pausing and breaking down what happened showed me what I need to improve on. good lookin out fam

So glad you made this, it’s some really good insight. I have so much trouble with rush down players, especially when they have so many mixups, resets, etc…

A big part of learning in this game is being exposed to the craziness, then looking up answers for the craziness and practice. Thanks for watching!

This came out at a perfect timing because I've been struggling to figure out why my defense is terrible and I had no idea how to approach it. Thanks dude

Solid play man, and this is exactly the video I've been looking for, I've been struggling a bit against overly aggressive players recently.

Awesome Guide Dreece!! Dealing with super aggressive players in any Fighting game is always hard and I like how you explain using Active defence to counter them. Also, nothing feels better than when u force your aggressive opponent to take a step back and try to play slower. Huge win!!

@dulcrown929 that means you gotta tighten up your strings, but some people will always either mash or reversal

@@dulcrown929 what character do you play? You also have to teach your opponent to respect your options, especially if they're auto piloting. A lot of times you have to change your natural playstyle to expose what your opponent is abusing. Keep grinding!

Good stuff bro! Some people are so caught up in flashy combos and tech but the way to get better is something like this. Understanding decision making and risk/reward really helps players improve.

patience is even more valuable at low levels imo, thats where people tend to do dumb stuff/gimmicks and have bad habits that go unchecked. learning to react to DI, anti air, etc. will go a long way because a lot of players will rely on a high-risk offense that falls apart when you know how to keep it under control.

I struggle with players who throw out neutral skips and take big risks. The other player is just throwing those neutral skips and big risk specials and sometimes they get rewarded cause they land. I play Kim and the worst feeling matchups is either another KIm, Cammy, and Juri. Those high mobility characters leads to a play style where you can just ignore neutral a good 80% of the game. Spam the neutral skip if it lands straight to RPS game-play. Its very stomp or get stomped way of winning. Especially for Kim players. She has neutral that isn't great, but better than most people think. You will catch people with her buttons, especially as they sit there and way for you to teleport or slide. Block, check them if there trying to steal their turn, and don't walk into their space trap. Slowing them down and punishing is the key.

As an extremely aggressive Marisa player you’re not wrong. I’ll try to get you away from patience and things you’ve practiced and test your reactions. In the goal to break you as a fighter. Then I’ll friend you.

@@nicorobin7762 haha yes like he said in the video. Also not all aggressive play is just mashing, there is fake pressure which can be gimmicky. It’s mainly applying pressure and forcing mistakes instead of waiting for them to happen. Love the name though

The main problem is that drive rush has no risk because you can mash moves during the animations... Sf6 rewards braindead idiotic play thats why this play style is so prevalent online
@DreeceDaBeast

And that’s exactly why I’m focusing on ways to mitigate it. Drive rush is very strong

Good video. My only concern about this though, is that its from a character with an OD reversal like Ed. Obviously the video isn't just about that, BUT, having an OD reversal in a game like this and the mere threat of it is such a mental victory on your side in terms of defense and managing your opponents offensive pressure. I would ask, if you could, to do a similar video on a character like Manon (who I main). Reason being is simply down to the mentality of a character like a Cammy or any other high pressure character that does not have the concern of second guessing their offense towards you, especially on wake-up. Nothing is worse in this game than maining a character like Manon and not having a reversal, its damn near hopeless on the defensive side. Im currently Diamond 3 about to be 4 so Im not a scrub by any means, but I still have a long way to go skill wise.

The timing of this vid is CRAZY. I bounce between P4 and 5 and I try to play the neutral but the super aggression makes the game scrambly so this is a lot of help🫡.
