Hey everyone, so i didn't touch on 1, 3~3 nearly enough without the extension that's -14. 1, 3~3 by itself is actually +6~8 on block making it a very effective pressure tool. it's very interruptible if you're sharp enough to see it, you can use your 15 frame launcher or a fast CH if you have the read that they will use it, it's far more likely that you'l have to block it so respect it if you do. Remember to use your 14 frame punish if they do use the extension. Thanks and sorry for not including this information in the video. You guys are great, the support for my channel so early on has been huge and i'm working on continuing to improve the quality of the videos :)

Next thing you should probably lab is Leo's KNK mixups, especially the ones from B+1,4. I know that all of them (except for KNK 2) can be jabbed out of, and B+1,4 can be sidestepped by some of the cast, but there are a lot of peeps who do not know this stuff! I think it would be a good video, exposing your main is always nice! Amazing video though, keep it up!

NOT MY LEO! it's interesting, that would make a very good Lab video but at the same time i want to make a really in depth KNK guide from Leo's perspective and i would touch on all the anti KNK stuff in that, i'll think about it :) Thanks very much! :)

@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
My video isn't going to stop the 1,2,3 | 1,2,4 mix up being effective i wouldn't worry too much:) i'll definitely have to look into Hwoarang for one of these yes. quick note, a lot of his strings are between highs and lows not mids and lows, a generally effective tool is to down jab your way out of his endless strings.

Most players don't finish those extensions. 1,3,2 (-1) and 2,1 (-3) which make them not as minus on block, and give Jin enough time to predict a mix-up or even interrupt slow moves
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
mdbr2 I understand that at a high level these strings will not be finished often and could be considered gimmicky but that's why I covered them. In general I try to teach people how to deal with gimmicks and tricks, those strings you mentioned are much safer and much more viable against a good opponent but they're also not very dangerous and very generic so there isn't much to cover about them in a video

@swanscream51526 жыл бұрын
+kenichi oikawa Peacekeeper whiffs on sidewalk. If your reaction is quick, you can launch it. If you jab once into backlash, you should have time to see it and duck it. The timing for a 15 frame WS punish is practically a just frame, though.
@soliquas6 жыл бұрын
Swan Scream I've been watching some vids about it too Thanks for the insight :)
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
I actually went into it on my "top ten highs you must duck and punish" video on my channel if you want a quick look at that set up :) other than that know that peacekeeper is extremely linear, sidewalk when at the range he likes to use it, it's also safe on block not plus, if you're very confident they'll go immediately into back lash you can throw out a low that high crushes and that will beat it out. backlash is plus 7 billion on block so you just have to respect his mix ups if you block it don't swing and you can't get counter hit. thanks! :)
@victortjiong34916 жыл бұрын
I hope you could lab Eddy next. He has this strange low block stagger animations -- which for some reasons only certain moves able to punish -- even though you know your character got the right frame/tools to punish and it still whiffed. And of course, how to deal with his annoying mix ups. I can say Eddy got the sexy tools and getting stronger since Tekken 7. I was Christie player back before Tekken 7. Since Christie isn't available any longer, I don't use capoeirista anymore. :(
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
Victor Tjiong yeah I like the idea of looking into how different characters punish his lows on block. I think most people would actually say he got quite a lot worse than be was in tag 2 but he's still very hard to deal with when not labbed properly. I'll definitely get around to him :)

You really don't want to get into the habbit of trying to break strings with a down jab too much. Good opponents will low parry punish you for it.
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
This is absolutely true, though i would say that the kind of players who are abusing 1,2,3 and 1,2,4 mix up with Jin are fairly unlikely to know about special mids at all. i'll actually do a video specifically on special mids, down jabs and low parrying them at some point, thanks!
@sneeze41006 жыл бұрын
There is a bit more to watch out for with 2, 1, 4 than detailed here. The 4 is very delayable and can be used to stuff attempts at retaliation. If you're seen respecting the 4 followup, Jin players like myself may go for a low poke with d/b 4, a throw mixup, or any manner of launching mid. Be careful against this move, as a Jin who conditions you with it will take full advantage of this great pressure tool.
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
You mean 2,1,4 right? i should have gone more into the delay-able quality of the move, my bad.
@sneeze41006 жыл бұрын
Yeah yeah, sorry that was a typo and I thought it was right so I rolled with it, lol. Lemme edit that.
@jubi8_6 жыл бұрын
Also 2,1 by itself is +6~+7 Sometimes I like to use that as my i10 punish or just as a safe fast poke and turn the momentum on my side to follow up with more pressure.
@cxkxr12126 жыл бұрын
Jubi not to mention the 4 is garunteed on CH. so opponents who like duck the 2,4 or dick jab will be at a big disadvantage. i played a kazuya that liked to dick jab after blocking my 1,2 to interrupt both enders. it worked twice, but after that they were free low parries lol, he never dick jabbed after 1,2 again. jins mind games are complex however small they seem.
@Luminethereploid6 жыл бұрын
Honestly I expected this to be like 50 minutes long, is it really all there is to Jin's pressure? If yes, awesome.
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
There's much more to his overall pressure, this is a quick breakdown of all of the strings that come from his jabs, There's a lot more to lab in the long run But I hope this helps nonetheless :)

@Autoswitched6 жыл бұрын
You didn't mention how to deal with the delayed 2,1,4. 2,1,4 can also be mixed up by just doing 2,1, going for a quick low, or delaying the 4 to catch button presses. To deal with this, you can just mash back and if he delays the 4, it will whiff and you can launch.
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
I should have at least mentioned the delay, sorry about that. when it comes to not ending strings you have to always know it's possible for the opponent to do that with all strings, i just try to teach about the strings themselves in these specific video's.

@Mr440c6 жыл бұрын
Jin is especially hard to play as also because of videos such as this. Recently he got sorta popular for making guides on him. Guides on punishing new charaters would be much more relevant tbh.
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
For whatever reason i always struggled against Jin's jab strings. They were one of the first things i ever figured out in practice mode myself so i thought i'd make this video the first of the series as i know the thought process i went through. Every character has gimmicky strings and Jin is also very popular. i don't think he should be immune to a specific anti guide like this one because he's a high execution character at a high level (which i respect) At the end of the day these videos are here to help beginner-intermediate players. a really good Jin player will not struggle in the match up because the opponent understands how his jab strings work.
@trilfy6 жыл бұрын
Nah, I can do 1,2,3 1,2,4 mix up all day and the opponent won't know what's coming. I can even do just 1,2 by itself and follow up with a grab or wave dash mix-up. Sure they know how your strings work, but they still need to have a good reaction and a good read.
@victortjiong34916 жыл бұрын
This kind of video is just for knowledge and insight purpose. It doesn't guaranteed you'll beat every Jin players after watching the video. Yes, good reaction and good read is still needed. So, no worries for Jin players. I love your channel, Scallywag 93. Keep making videos like this. Very useful.

This is the one character I see constantly doing a stance in my face when I'm blocking. It's super irritating cuz a bad player will *just* do these strings and occasionally catch me flash baiting or 'partying'. Would be cool if yoshi could actually play chicken with his kin parry or start in nss, but I get why that's never going to happen lmao. Maybe they could've made kin 1+2 the power crush...

You probably don't know the existance of ws 4, 1+2, which is arguably the best WS 11f punisher in the game, (Leo)
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
I definitely know the existence of it haha, i'm a Leo main, her punishment tools are part of why i chose her. i just don't want to mislead people into thinking they can get a crazily powerful punish for everything that's -11 and leaves you in crouch so i try not to show it too much in my guides, i think it could be confusing for new players.
@Mr440c6 жыл бұрын
How come that characters like Shaheen interrupt my jabs (playing Jin) with fucking d/f+1 when I try to jab them out of pressing button's spam? Sometimes even with d/f+2! This shit makes me go crazy af. Like they don't seem to have any particular frame advantage. Shaheen's d/f+1 is 13-14 on start up and it beats i10 jab. How come? It's like when I play people I am the only one who experience huge input lag while their moves work just fine. Or is it that I do something wrong? People get away with so much bullshit with easy execution characters it is ridiculous. No other game makes me feel like shit as Tekken does.
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
Very few characters like Shaheen and Lee have df1's with a few high crush frames meaning that occasionally they can beat jabs. i'm not sure about his df2 though, sounds like you might have just been in laggy matches if you weren't at frame disadvantage. if it's a Shaheen specific thing it's probably the high crush frames. Hope this helps

@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
I definitely could have mentioned it and its frame data, i never see it used though, do you think it's viable due to the mix up potential?
@vjuttujee50286 жыл бұрын
It's not a matter of viability, but I'd say it's viable when mixed together with other jab extension options. +6 on block at point blank is prime time for any character and for a video titled "How To Beat Jin's Jab Pressure Strings | Tekken 7 Lab" it would've been appropriate to mention the danger of that move on block. I don't know much about youtubevideos, but I've seen in the past some channels posting text boxes into the video for additional information. Some users may have turned them off, but for those who haven't, it might be valuable information.
@scallywag93516 жыл бұрын
I've just checked and yeah it is massively plus on block, i actually just didn't know that and it absolutely should have been in the video. If you mean annotations then KZfaq has removed it, i wish they hadn't because i could just add that to the video right now. If you mean something else then i'm unaware of it but it must be something you have to enable rather than disable as i haven't removed anything like that.
