Good vid but I dont agree with saying tha Ivy recovery is predictable. PT recovery in general is everything but predictable since you have down B. You can vine from pretty much everywhere around the ledge, you can vine cancel ledgegrab, vine cancel razor/aerial, vine cancel down B blablabla

Elite Pokémon Trainer here! I thought I'd live my thoughts. Squirtle: I mostly agree with what you've said. He's the low % combo character. I also think it's important to note his small size. He is seriously so hard to hit. Also, his tilts are just as good as his aerials. Most of his moves are safe on shield. How do you beat him? Use any ranged move to your advantage. Squirtle doesn't have a lot of good disjoints, so you want to keep your distance. Space you moves well, especially on shield. Also, don't try to punish every single move he throws out. Hit him as he's approaching. Ivysuar: Again, I agree for the most part. Side b combos into a lot of moves. Mix up how you avoid this. He is slow, but you can't bully his shield. Nair covers spot-dodge and can be drifted to cross up shield, so expect an ivysuar to use this out of shield a lot. I disagree with the claim that his recovery is bad. It's VERY good. Ivysuar can actually grab the ledge while above it. I can just react to my opponent's movements and decide when to up b. Ivy can also down b mid-tether. If you want to beat him, juggle him. All of his aerials are slow and punishable. Also, his entire neutral kinda relies on side b. If you have a reflector, he's done for. Charizard: I actually largely disagree with this one. Yes, he is fast and loves his grabs. But you forgot to mention his best moves. Nair is a great edge-guarding tool, and the sour-spot can be used for tech-traps. If you get hit by a sour-spot nair and land on a platform at mid %, you're dead. Side b covers all tech options. Against non-floaty characters, down tilt into side b is also a guaranteed kill at mid %. Also, back air is a very safe move, and the sour-spot IS still pretty strong. It kills stupidly early. To beat him, juggling is your best bet. Like Ivy, his moves are pretty slow. Just make sure to respect his up smash. Crossing up shield does NOT work against that move. Overall: All of the Pokémon lack amazing get-off-me options. Squirtle's rising nair and fair are unsafe on hit at low %. Ivysuar and Charizard's aerials are kinda slow. (Beware of Zard's up smash out of shield, however.) Their best escape tool is down b, which carries this character's disadvantage state. I'll be honest, I spam this in disadvantage. It stalls the pokemon in the air and has frame 1 invincibility. However, it is punishable. Long-lasting hitboxes can cover this option. You can bait a down b by starting a combo, then fast fall and land while the trainer uses down b. Then, jump back up and continue to juggle! Something to keep in mind is that down b has about a 2 second cool-down (unless a special move is used). All of the pokemon are not very good at getting off the ledge. Always ledgetrap. Edguarding this character is just not realistic. Squitle's hitboxes are small. Ivysuar and Charizard have no quick burst option.

Ivysaur's edge guarding is much more than just down air. There's some pretty busted combos that will kill early off stage like rising Nair or Bair to vine whip. Also you don't need to footstool squirtle's withdraw to stun him, you only need to jump on him. It's relatively easy with some practice (much easier than timing the jump for footstooling). Great video though, covered lots of things most guides aren't talking about (:

Wow, I feel so validated by type #3. That's definitely how I play. Depending on what my opponent is using I'll either use Ivysaur 80% of the time or Chariard 80% of the time. But I always felt like I was *supposed* to be a type 1 otherwise I wasn't using the full potential.
