How often are you murdered by a psychopath while living in a society? Being pretty much emotionless they won't risk everything to just kill you. So you need to really fuck up to allow yourself to be killed by a psycho. If anything you are much more likely to die from some hothead as it doesn't require any mistake at all

When I was a kid, my brother and I were home alone at night and someone started banging on the door. Then they banged on the window. I was freaked out, so I grabbed a kitchen knife and was demanding to know who it was, but they weren't answering. And of course we weren't going to look out the window, the blinds were closed anyway. It turned out to be a friend, trying to scare us. Why are kids in movies so willingly defenseless, is it just bad writing, or do people actually forget that kids aren't completely brain dead?

Never disliked a character harder than Sam, like Billy may be a huge jerk but she's such an awful sister. She let her brother's arm get twisted while it was broken and didn't do anything except watch.

Bro, seriously! I also feel she's in my top 3 unintentionally hated characters. Always glad to see I'm not the crazy one here for thinking assaulting a child SHOULD be a turn off, and yet her not caring made sense for her character. That's how bad she is.

sam is definitely garbage but in her defense she's also a child still.... I mean I never expect any child to make a good decision.... sometimes they do and that's a nice bonus but usually they don't make good calls and will often freeze up during serious situations due to uncertainty

For those who don't know this is actually based on one of the short stories from the VHS horror movie series, it's actually a short film very similar to this that features a girl and her brothers while they're being babysitter alongside her boyfriend when there attacked and invaded by aliens who are sea-based and come from the lake, of course the short film featured originally a dog that was the last remaining member before it to was killed by the aliens while the children were captured.

Honestly, Sam is the worst person in this movie. Billy may be human scum but Sam knowingly letting him do all this shit without doing a thing and then when the aliens arrive she just abandons the kids to hide.

@@lostsanityreturnedI agree here. I don't know why humans insist on blaming everyone BUT the perpetrator, but Sam is AS BAD as Billy, not worse. Still, I dislike Sam more here because she's more related to the kids (literally to one of them) and so her betrayal means more than Billy being a monster.

This might have been something I watched, looks goofy but entertaining. If it weren't for MF BILLY. I HATE when they have some jackass secondary antagonist that just refuses to fuck off out of the script, screws everything up at every turn, gets everyone killed or kills them, then ONLY AT THE VERY END, dies. And it's always supposed to be a "Yeah! Eat it!" Moment, but it never is. He killed 80% of you! Who cares if he's finally dead. Billy should not have been the primary bad guy here, cause, let's be honest, he was. Aliens or some angsty douchebag? Hmmmmm?

Someone having a knife to your throat is the same as someone having a gun right next to your face, you can grab the knife or gun much faster than they can react to you grabbing it. Best to wait until they're somewhat distracted by something else, but pretty much at any point in time you can just grab it and control it.

If the kid was gonna garrote Billy with a chain, he should have brought his knees up into the small of douche canoe’s back and thrown his body weight backwards to apply more tension to the chain at his throat, maybe bring him down backwards where the kid could have brought his legs around just under his ribs and held fast. Giving the kid an opportunity to pull the chain tighter and keep him down for his friends to give him a 21 boot salute as he asphyxiates. If you’re gonna sneak attack someone, you damn well better commit 110%.

Honestly I think even by bully standards that would make the bully look like the kind of person afraid to fight someone their own size.

With sever stab wounds find clean cloth and stuff it into the wound as best as you can without opening the wound further. This will hurt a lot, but the wound will bleed slower and clot faster.

When Billy locked them out of the house hell they could have taken a brick ,rock or something bashed the windows so at least he wouldn't be safe himself but I feel like if the aliens wanted they would for movie plot reasons get in either way ,it's not a nit pick but it's a observation break the glass doors aliens get Billy the rest of them go to other build fortify it and try and hold out like nerd said better stuff their then in the house.

Is this movie based on the alien segment of VHS?? It’s similar. The kids make pretty creative home movies, older sister is left in charge while parents are out of town, she invites her boyfriend over, the kids charge in to mess with them while they’re about to get intimate in bed, and the aliens seem to come from the lake.
