That is an interesting and substantially more positive interpretation to that ending. Most people assume the family has been trapped in a snow-globe in Krampus's lair.

That's a much better ending explanation than how I took it lol. When I first watched the movie I took the ending as the family was trapped at Krampus's inside the snow globe, along with many many other trapped families.

I thought this was one of the movies where people misinterpret the ending. The family wasn't trapped in a globe or anything the bell was just to remind them that krampus was always watching and making sure they appreciated christmas. So in way the ending was a happy one.

I know how to beat this entire movie. First, don't sit there at the dinner table allowing Max's cousins to bully him by reading the whole letter. If any adult had stepped in from the start, Max wouldn't have had to tear up the letter thus triggering all that happened in this movie. SIMPLE. Yay, you understood the ending correctly! It's surprising how many people thought the ending was people trapped in globes, as little sense as that makes. The bell is the big giveaway that the family get another chance but he'll be watching, just like what the grandmother endured in the past (except only she as the cause of Krampus's visit gets the warning and second chance). There would be no point giving the bell if he'd just taken them away to be trapped forever.

It's not that max was an intended to be taken away, as he was only in danger by proxy, initially anyway. As demonstrated by grandma's tale, it's fairly obvious this version of krampus leaves the person alive that drew his attention, giving them a sleigh-bell as a reminder to keep the spirit of Christmas unlike the rest of their family. But because max insulted the seasonal demon, he was included in his family's punishment. Just another one of those 'careful what you wish for' moments lol.

No, while the house is still warm, identifying all cloths, blankets, thick clothes, anything that can insulate is more useful, also finding candles, which provide portable light as well as controllable heat. We can worry about firewood later. Also, since there is a fireplace, try to find any actual firewood around the house. Heck, find an axe and see if there are any trees near the house you can use to MAKE some firewood. Also, you listed survival tactics in order... after this I would do that... but there are multiple people in the house, and many of these tasks can be done simultaneously, saving time and heat while they still have it. @ 23:00 I'm going to have to disagree with you wholeheartedly. Fire extinguishers only last for so long and all it takes is one, just one, ember or spark to get somewhere it isn't supposed to be to start a house fire. Once the house is burning out of control you've lost your only protection. Ironically, torches or perhaps even the candles I mentioned earlier might be a better, more easily controllable deterrent. @ 24:00 again, no I have to disagree with you. The territory of Krampus appears to be wherever the blizzard is. And blizzards can range for hundreds of miles across. Plus it has been seen using stealth tactics, so being out in the open, even armed with flammables, isn't going to be a good idea. It is in fact a very bad one.

When i first saw this movie as a kid it was so terrifying. I couldn't even sleep because of this movie. Now that im older im still scared of this.

Santa was a real person who gave kids in his town gifts. He just wasn't a supernatural being or anything. And the mall Santa definitely wasn't 'looking away' if you know what I mean.

I saw this in theaters, just my friends and like one other group was there, but it was honestly so fun. We all took it more as a comedy than any attempt at horror.

Its funny that the two girls that are Max's cousins are referred to as boys, kind of amusing since an insult at the dinner table from Max was that he said their father wished they were boys instead of girls

Oh, is the consensus that Krampus is watching them in the real world via his snow globe? I always thought he had them and those other houses trapped in their own pocket dimension where they keep reliving Christmas Day. Like a hellish version of "Groundhog Day".

Seems like the Santa Claus in this is far more ferocious than any of us could ever imagine. There's no easy way to beat that to a pulp.

That ending is so scary, just sitting there in a cluster of snow globes trapped to celebrate Christmas correctly forever and if they mess up then they die and appear in the same snow globe again.

Clearly not all Christmas movies have a happy ending.

Finally! Every christmas night we watch this movie with my whole family, its basically a tradition. Cool video and have a damn good day!

I’d try to convince krampus that the family members I live with, my favorite family members, and I all still have Christmas spirit. It’s a bit risky because I’d have to confront him, but it’s a chance I’m willing to take if that means he leave us alone.

I always saw the ending as them being trapped in the globe. That no one escaped, and they were stuck forever reliving Christmas over and over - but the idea of being watched makes sense too.

I remember watching this when I was younger and it scared the living sh!t out me it gave me nightmares for a good couple of days 😭✨
