If I was the guy that found the eggs at the very beginning, I'd leave the room. Think about it. You go to a ship where there's no people but you got a call to go there. You go into a room full of giant eggs that you've never seen before. One of them starts to hatch. Who in their right mind would want to hang around for that, let alone go see what's inside the egg?

That’s actually a really good point. I surprised none of them pointed it out. That there was only enough oxygen for them to be out of cryo for a week and there’s only enough stasis pods for the crew and Jonesy.

Ash’s agenda was Weyland-Yutani’s agenda. This crew was screwed even before they came out of hyper sleep. The company knew about the alien ship on LV-426, the Nostromo was just unlucky enough to be closest to it to divert their course for Earth.

I gotta say I would never disable the artificial gravity, humans arnt exactly as adapted to scurry around on pipes etc as a Xenomorph, if it's off and your found your gonna be caught right quickly

Two things wrong with ignoring the distress signal: 1) You'd have to sleep at night knowing it could've been someone that actually needed help 2) Ash would probably have reported you. I also have a theory that Ash knew good and well what they were walking into, so in that case he'd try his best to convince the crew to land.

Your point about the Alien being a threat to the cargo and the ship itself is a very good one. Even from the company's perspective its more prudent to log the location of the signal, have the refinery ship come back, and it turn send a "rescue" crew to the location of the signal.

I didn't even realize it was a sponsorship until halfway through when my thought process was "wait a minute, why would we give aliens wine?"

I like how 2:24 has the most gentle touchdown and yet the cockpit goes into utter chaos.

I was thinking....If a xenomorph's blood is acid, what would happen if you were able to inject or shoot a super strong base into it? Would it be like mixing vinegar and baking soda? Would it neutralize the acidic nature of the blood? Would it possibly act as a poison to kill it? I don't know what would happen but it was an interesting thought.

7:00 This is a great example of how you avoid the old horror "why are you going into the basement??" cliche of characters doing stupid things so the plot can happen and bad things take place. Ripley makes the right call here. And the science officer ignores her. Later in the movie you learn the science officer is an evil android ordered by the company to get the alien back for analysis, all crew members expendable. So you literally have the hero making the intelligent decision but forces they are not yet aware of undermine their efforts. That's good storytelling. It lets the bad stuff happen without compromising the intelligence of the people fighting the bad thing.

Your say on alien life in this part 3:06 actually makes sense. Once aliens that have advanced technology would look at us as wild animals. Just like when I played spore I destroyed a lot of livable planets for fun and I think they might do that also. Which is pretty scary to think.

"Why don't they freeze him" was mentioned by that one character like 30 times after Kane was brought on board, and its ridiculous that no one listened to him , because here you are explaining in perfect detail why that would have been the best possible solution. Granted his mindset was that they'd "cure him later" so he was right for the wrong reasons, but even his own rationale is far more solid than just letting Kane sit in quarantine letting the facehugger do whatever it wants.

Alien: Attacks man. Crew: Yeah, let's bring it back. Alien: Implants something in the host. Crew: This is fine. Alien: Dies after implanting said unidentified object in its host. Crew: Still no problem here. Man: Dies from alien chest buster. Crew:....alright...we MIIIIGHT have a problem.

Dude. This is my favorite franchise of all time. So yeah I may or may not kelp all these plans in mind lol

First, I'd likely be Parker or Brett out of all the archetypes. Secondly, the plan they come up with to trap the Xeno is honestly the best thing you could do, short of ditching the ship and your crew members. You'd need to be sneaky beyond all recognition, activate the shuttle without notice, bypass 'mother' for access, all while the PA is on and reporting the activity to the rest of the ship, with your remaining crew members hearing it. So I think that would be just as tricky to do as catching and killing the Xeno. You can't sleep, or hide in a room and wait until you cave from cabin fever or wait until the Xeno finds a way in and kills you anyways. So again, finding the Xeno and blowing it into outer space IS the only thing you can collectively do. You don't have many options and using the cat as bait, wouldn't work because the Xeno wasn't interested in it anyways (see the scene where it knocks the cat in it's carrier away after looking at it) and again, it's a smart creature and knows the true enemy, and what it stands to gain from the remaining crew. Lol typing this just makes me feel as hopeless as if I were really experiencing it. Between Parker and Brett, I likely would've been volunteered to find the cat. Here is where I would deviate from the script, I wouldn't have stood there while the Xeno lunged over me, I would have ran (granted I could do so quickly enough). Truth is, I'd likely be a casualty of this movie, not a survivor.
