How to pack your bike bags to travel on your gravel bike. All about my bike packing setup including bike packing bags, the things you need, and how to stay organized. You'll also get some tips for your first bike packing trip. This is my setup for riding the Camino de Santiago with a lot of dust and grease from the cycling adventure. We take a closer look at my AGU equipment, which is perfect to do bike travels on a budget. Favorite feature: The bags are made from recycled plastic. They're really sick and I use them for years, those exact ones.

Recording this felt a little bit awkward as I am not used to talking to the cam when I am not riding my bike. I forgot how to speak and act normal 😂 Anyone else more confident when riding bikes?

I feel 10 times more confident and twice as good looking when I'm on my bike. Shout out to Giant bicycles for making that possible!

It’s funny cause sure it seems/feels awkward to talk to the camera, but part of what I really enjoy about your content is that it’s not over produced or staged. It’s honest, real and down to earth. Don’t sweat it dude, no one likes to hear themselves, but I like watching yourself and the videos you make.

Hi Following your travel adventure to Santiago has remembered me the times I did it. I always cycled a mountain bike and I used some of the tips you explain in this video. A pair of shocks, a pair of t-shirts... you dont really need much to do it. I traveled once to Amsterdam and Utrech and I got in love with the country, Netherland, and the spirit of cycling there you have. I wish some day I could travel around your country... Well lovely videos. I enjoyed so much, so funny, specially when you get into the shop riding your bike to look for some chocolate, just like I really knight into his castle. I think Ive got in love Virginia...😱 bie

Finished my 700ks Pamplona to Santiago mountain bike ride on the camino in May. Much heavier at a total weight of 28kg but coming from Australia I didn't want to chance not having spares, also with drone and paperwork. So the uphill sections were brutal. I enjoyed following your ride and look forward to your next adventure.

Two questions… how do you set the right pace so you are not too tired later on in the ride and how do you secure your bike when you go into shops and cafes? Thanks for the inspiration!
@xMaggostx
@xMaggostx 2 жыл бұрын
I think the best way to set a chill pace is to check your HR and look for that sweet spot, each person is different so the HR ranges may vary a LOT.
@clippedinandfree

I’ve done a lot of endurance rides and I guess that comes with experience. If you can feel your legs burning, you’re too fast to keep that speed. It should be a little tiring but try to stick to a speed that feels like you can go forever. If you are not tired in the evening you can go faster 🤟🏽. What we want on those trips is a deep sort of tiredness, no muscle soreness. I’m training without heartrate as I know my body quite well but it can help to find your sweet spot ☺️

How do you find people to do these awsome adventures with? I would really like to do a bike packing trip, but none of my friends ride bikes and I would prefer not to ride alone. Is there some kind of platform that exists to find other adventurers?
@clippedinandfree
@clippedinandfree 2 жыл бұрын
I understand the struggle. You need to find people who how are available and up for such adventures and it’s not easy. Virginia and I were friends before and we were speaking about doing something like this together for ages. I’ve also reached out to people on Instagram, which is how I met @lawrencecarpenter for example. So try this platform! 🥰

Do you ask if it's okay to bring your bike to the room (airbnb/hotel) or do you just do it and hope nobody complains?
@clippedinandfree

I mostly tell in advance if it’s Airbnb and if it’s a hotel I let them know how expensive bikes are if they don’t offer another safe solution. I’ve also left a hotel once as they wouldn’t let me take my bike with me to the room. In fact they called me back and I got an upgrade 🤟🏽
