I have Home Assistant running on my Raspberry Pi and was surprised to see AdGuard Home as an integration. I believe it is simply installed as a separate Docker container, but it is working well!

Great tutorial! I made an Ubuntu VM and install of adguard was a snap. The only issue I has was during final setup where adguard wouldn't run because the native Ubuntu DNS was running. Luckily, clear instructions were included to fix this as my Linux skills are rusty :-) When I run an NSLOOKUP on a client it responds with the correct adguard dns server and resolves external DNS correctly. Ads are pretty much gone in our home and I see no lag in DNS lookup times. Thanks for this video!

I just discovered that a large group of Chromebooks are equipped with Linux version Crostini its beta not sure if it would have the right tools to get into the pihole. I'm gonna try though.

KZfaq Ads can't be blocked at the DNS level, so you would need to use a browser extension to be able to block them on your devices. Thanks for watching!

I run a synology nas and have adguard home on it with a seperate ip for its DNS. I have however started to run a domain server from the nas too. All of the workstation computers were set to use the dns ip of adguard home, however for the domain controller to work, i now need to set the dns ip of the nas for the work stations to be on the domain. Being that I can only use one or the other for the dns ip, i have to choose between adguard or the domain. Is there a way around this?

I'd imagine you could use the Raspberry Pi as your DNS server for the NAS and then subsequent DNS requests that get sent to the NAS from your network would be passed onto the Pi that way? Hope this helps!

Hi, Webroot conflict with Adguard on windows 10 and 11, the three are the latest version. I was using them together until a few days ago. Wen webroot is active Adguard doesn't get activated. Morever it prevents the browser to connect to the internet and all the icons on taskbar and windows start menu doesn't work until I uninstall Adguard. Any solution? I tried to make exception both softwares inside both but nothing changed.

It sounds like you may be talking about AdGuard Windows client software when this video focuses on AdGuard Home. Unfortunately I've not tried AdGuard for Windows so I am unable to provide any advice. However, I hope that you found this video informative and useful!

I am trying to use AdGuard but while configuring AdGuard dns my network got blocked, I can't access any page and I get the following error in my browser: DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_BAD_CONFIG any ideas? It is worth mentioning that I have a router connected to the modem of my internet provider and the router is where I am entering the dns since the modem of my internet provider does not let me change the dns

@Disco - no Pi-Hole does not as it also uses DNS blocking methods.

I downloaded adguard on my phone and I'm not getting ads on KZfaq anymore. Maybe they updated it cuz idk why ads stopped. I use the website instead of the app tho which might be the reason

No. pure coincidence it's literally impossible. I cant type URLs in comments, it gets blocked.. But the VIDEO and AUDIO is sent from "content youtube " and the ads are sent from "content youtube " when you block "content youtube", everything gets blocked.... MSN website serves ads from google, and the text and images from "content msn" so blocking "ads google", stops them showing on msn.. if you blocked "content msn" then you wouldnt have text or pics on msn........

Yeah it’s because it’s in browser. AdGuard isn’t the same as AdGuard home.

Unfortunately DNS ad blocking would not be able to differentiate between a KZfaq Ad and a KZfaq video. Thanks for watching!

when i add the dns to my androiad device.. it shows no internet connection.. what is the issue ?

Double check the IP has no spaces and that the Pi has network connectivity and is on the same network as your Android device, sometimes a device can take a moment to resync. Thanks for watching!

Just to everyone knows. It is not working for youtube ads. You'll have to use the app or extension too to block youtube ads.

Thanks for the info, that's the only reason I came here - so I could block YT ads ob my TV. (more specifically, PS4) KZfaq removed the ability to see dislikes, I remove my ad revenue support.

One more question. I see it has adult site blocking but it doesn't block the site, just the ads on them. Is there a way to disable adult sites? Asking for a friend XD

@@RichardTech hey again! it looks like that filter is for individual site, not all questionable sites. is there a way to block all of these sites or is that out of the scope of adguard? cheers!

@@RichardTech hi richard. Never mind. The issue was with the symantec browser plugin. Once I figure it out and started to work as they should. Also, as a note, make sure that your web browser is not using its own DNS. Otherwise, the blocker will not work. It’s not very well documented but once I found out, even KZfaq ads are blocked! I mean, not the ones embedded into the videos but those can easily be fast forward. It just plays about a second of the ad and then plays the video!! 😃
