the best way to get better is to learn why things happen in the game and in practice you can test everything so if you watch your replay and break down the matches round by round you'll learn new stuff.

if it's a combo you can not block in the middle. you will have to wait until the combo is finish before you can block.

@@HooliganBoii yes that would probably be the reason. best way to find out is go to the practice mode and set the opponent to stand and second action too guard all if the opponent is able to guard then it is not a combo.

My opinion on this is focus on the hero first,

Best way is watch the replay video where you fight him if you don't know the input for his move select his side when watching and put history command on and take to the practice and block those move in practice mode

mi me is right here, tekken 7 is a game in the series where lateral movement was nerfed across the board and tracking on moves in general was greatly increased whilst also increasing the amount of safe on block counter hit mid launchers. as a result characters such as zafina and feng wei, who come with evasiveness baked into their already strong counter hit game, get to sit in your face and spam braindead moves for 3 years. This has already been changed in the alpha build of tekken 8 as 90% of counter hit launchers no longer launch on counter hit.
