I came here to say I failed 3/5 classes first semester of college after being a straight A student. Three years passed and I have my dream job, I have good grades and I am about to graduate. Life does get better, you will be fine. It hurts at first, then you feel mad at yourself, then you feel scared to retry but at the end it all works out. Trust me. Take a deep breath and tell yourself you will get over this one day.

For exa week or two ago when it was high time for most students in colleges writing exams he posted a video about how to plan for studying exam schedule... and now that the results are out some students will be disappointed and hence the video.

It’s really comforting watching this and reading the comments realizing that I’m not alone, and that people go through this too and still manage to get through.... I’m a Senior in high school and I just took my physics final test for the first semester, but I know I failed, I was too overwhelmed with the fact that it was worth 70% of my final grade... my mind was too worried the whole time, i got confused and everything was a mess... I’ve never failed a class before, never ever. So, it feels terrible to let it sink down... but I’ll do as you say, thank you for this. I’m more calmed than before, I’m ready to confront the consequences, and even if things go bad theres always a solution to everything it doesn’t matter what, and I’ll do whatever it takes to reach my goal, this is not going to defeat me, I can retake the test, and it’s okay... I’ll learn from all of this, and yes I take this as a lesson, it’s a wake up call to teach me that i need to focus. I’m a good student there’s no doubt, but I need to focus I’ve been too distracted lately, I won’t let this little thing break me or my goal in life. I’ll be fine. Thank you

I'm not an F student, but this was my first semester of college and everything was moved online and I failed all of my courses due to lack of motivation and mental health relating to whats been happening around me. I am terrified of how this will affect my future and how my parents will react if they find out (Im hoping they dont). I sometimes get the feeling that I should just drop out bc I feel like I'm wasting money, but I want to prove others and myself wrong and come out with the best grades I have ever received. I don't want this to be for nothing. It terrifies me to the point where I feel sick, but I want the best for myself and I'm not entirely sure what to do

Hi there. I will try keep it short. You can still do it. As you said it's just the first semester and you are at the bottom, so it can only get better. Once you graduate you'll look back and remember the struggles you went through. You'll look back at the journey that you took to get that degree. One semester is such a small portion of your education and it shouldn't make you feel too bad that you didn't do well. Look forward, try again and do your best. I believe you can achieve your goals. Good luck

I used to have super-bad grades at maths even after all the hardwork, it felt like no one was there to guide or hold my hand and i had to figure out all on my own and not to mention my teacher who loved just writing a bunch of questions on the board and getting annoyed by questions. • Don't stop practicing, try. Try as much as possible • Don't be scared to ask even if your teacher doesn't seem interested in replying either, I promise there is someone else in the class who wants to ask the same question but just doesn't has the guts and would thank you for that!! • Try making friends and studying with them, it doesn't mean that you need to have some real or good friends just feel free to discuss the questions that scare you or the questions that you are struggling with solve together!! And at the end don't get demotivated, xx.

I think that most people in college (at least in Sweden) are quite open about failures. It might be because we're told right at the beginning of the first semester that failure is normal. "Everyone fails at least once" they told us. And my dad tells me all the time that failing is okay. But for me, failure is not an option. No one puts pressure on me but me and this is super unhealthy

I'm in the same situation right now. I really needed to hear what the person said above me. I'm realizing that you can't force yourself to like something if you genuinely just don't like it. I tried forcing myself to like the career path that I basically chose out of the air when I was 17 in high school because that's what you have to do sadly. I never once had a class or teacher help me in choosing this huge (basically life-long) decision of what you are going to do as a career in high school. I regret rushing into my major but now that I have figured out that it isn't for me, I need to do some thinking and find out what I truly enjoy and what I will be interested in as a career. I hope this helps in some way. No one has it all figured out, especially at a young age. Find what you love to do and you'll do whatever it takes to get there.

I'm an architecture student. My lecture subjects was great. But i always fail my design subjects. Now I'm forced to shift. Plus. I can't enroll the subjects that I have failed, cause here in the Philippines, the education is transitioning to a kinder to grade 12 system. I just don't know what happens next. I wanted to re do everything. But being the eldest is giving me more pressure.

i know this may be the biggest cliché, but we are all different we learn different we our approach is different and our studing styles are different, but nobody is DUMB, USELESS OR STUPID. Here is the thing when you are failing courses it doesn't means that you are dumb it means that it means that you have to change or modify your approach, studying style and maybe lifestyle to what it takes to pass that course. and believe me guys start studying from the first day of class. plz do let that work build up on you. And before i go one last thing we all make mistakes and making mistakes is not a bad thing but not learning from it is. They must be a reason why you fail whatever it may be find it and learn from it and make sure it NEVER happen again. example not having enough material to study, not attending leactures, not putting in enough work. Now go get your well deserve A's you Einsteins. 😊☺

@@CulinarySpaceMedia well I had to face the consequences of my failure. So, I did. I went to a tier 2 engineering university in my country. The first year I went into depression. I didn't come out of my room or ate for days. Then in the second year I got hope and started working again. In the final year I did an internship in Germany. Then I applied for my master's there. Now I'm going to Germany for my master's on two scholarships. It was a lot of crying, sadness and hard work. But I got somewhere I can say. I don't know if the future holds anything but I certainly know I will make the best out of what I have.

i guarantee that life will in some way serve those people some kind of failure at some point in some area of their life, relationships, job, family, etc and if all they have ever had to do is coast through life without adversity then it's going to hit them harder than you who know how to work their ass off. take it from me school is not the metric for success in life. and smart popular 'winners' in school don't always turn out so well, when in the real world. i would put my money on the kids that have had to deal with adversity and work their way out of it every time. life kicks everyone's ass but getting back up is most valuable the skill to learn.

I just failed passing to the university I wanted. I worked so hard and the only thing I was doing for the past 1 year was studying. And I mean literally! I was like a zombie . I live in Greece and because we have a shity educational system you literally have to learn by heart around 5 books each one referring to a different subject and then you have to give exams to each lesson independently. The competition is really high... nearly everyone around me succeeded but I didn't . I can have a second chance just by doing this all from the beginning but it is sooo fucking hard ... I guess there is no other way...

I wrote this comment 2 months ago . I have since taken my decision. I am trying again.

I’m a second year pre med major in college, so if you know anything about failure, you know that there’s almost no room for it when it comes to your grades. I was studying for an organic chemistry exam. I spent the last several days studying for it, pulling all nighters, being stressed to the max, and generally not doing anything else but studying for this one exam. You’d think that I would crush my exam, but the truth is I didn’t. I didn’t even take it. All day today, I thought, “my exam will start at 5PM.” The reality is that 5PM is when the class ends. 4:10PM is when it starts. I headed to class at 4:50, feeling prepared for the exam I was about to take. Until it hit me. I had mixed up the times. Today, for the first time ever, I accidentally missed an exam. When your grade is mostly comprised of just exams, it’s easy to feel defeated. What worse is I’m not an F student at all, but my failure was the result of poor study habits. I’ve cried quite a bit today because nothing like this has ever happened to me before. I’ve never experienced “failure.” Watching this video was exactly what I needed. Sometimes, the failure isn’t “not studying enough” or “not paying attention in class.” Sometimes it is not taking care of yourself. Sometimes it’s burning yourself out so bad that it ends up in even more destruction.

I can hide the results from my parents until I get to do another supp. I'm so exhausted, depressed. This is the lowest point of my life so far . Now I'm in my Spring semester, it's close to finals and I'm struggling in all my classes with C's and D's and I'm supposed to get a 2.0 GPA after my finals. Plus I can't drop any of them because I'm on scholastic probation and I'd lose financial aid. Which makes me mad cause one of my teachers is scatterbrained and teaching a course they never taught before. I'm ashamed of myself and also fear what'll happen to me afterwards. I think the part of failure in pursuing academic qualification that I find the hardest to deal with, is the part where my money flies away and my debt/loan gets significantly more heavier with each module I fail. Yes, it's my fault for the failure and honestly, I don't mind taking the time to learn from my mistakes, but the fact that my debt grew from my failure to finish a module in the first try stings like hell, and it looms over me for days, weeks.

Trust me your not alone, but you have to keep in my that regardless, there are other options and school is not a life sentence. Recently, I was having horrible I'm talking horrible trouble in my math class, I had been working on the same chapter for hours and hours, and was frustrated, mad, sad, exhausted, everything. I kind of had a minnie melt down, where I cried, thought I was going to be a college drop-out because I can't pass this class, and i even wrote my math teacher that I'm probably going to fail, that I feel like I'm failing school, my world is crashing........And then after letting myself feel sad, I realized what the heck, this class don't make me, and I can pass it, next time I just have to start really early (which I plan to do) and try to get a tutor, also that I wasn't dumb, math just sucks for some of us (like me) who don't find it enjoyable (but fake like you like it, it helps, lol). Also not every goes to school, and some do fine without going to school, remember were weren't put on the earth to go to school, but to reach our destinies. And the fact that you are choosing to go to school, and you put effort, made sacrifices which come with it, makes you a damn awesome and determined person, just don't let the b.s put you down :) it happens to all of us, trust me , just say screw it I'm not done :). (sorry this is long hope it helped.)

I failed because I'm addicted to KZfaq. Its such an underrated addiction but it really is the reason i failed. Instead of studying, I'd just watch youtube the whole day during my study break and I feel like no one talks about it ever? Everyone's always on about video game addiction, drug addiction, porn addiction but youtube addiction is very real too. Its the reason Im still over here procrastinating instead of focusing on not failing the rest of my exams. And I cant just disable youtube because its also basically my main teacher.

Anyone want to share some fuck ups? I was nearly kicked of university for bad grades, I was needlessly shy and negative for a lot of the period of ages 14-24. I got by ok but I rarely truly challenged myself, I had an overwhelming fear of looking stupid when trying something new. In 2015, I've learned more in a year than the past 10 years. And here is the sum of that wisdom: trust yourself. There is no easy way to learn this. If things get worse, you trust yourself less, and if you trust yourself less, you seek less challenges and thinks get worse. Deliberately put yourself into high failure situations, find ways to improvise. Again and again you will find you didn't need years of training to do something, you are smart enough to be watching a video like this, you can make things work, accept imperfection, never accept a perfect plan never executed.

I transferred to a different school this year and I’m taking a lot of difficult classes so I’ve been getting lower grades lately, and my averages are like 80s and high 90s, but I’ve gotten some 70s on tests and quizzes that have really made my self-esteem stoop low. Recently, however, I received my lowest grade ever on any test, and it was on this essay exam that I wasn’t even able to complete in time-I got a 54. I have been wasting my day doing nothing but mindlessly scrolling through KZfaq trying to get my mind off of it while also worrying about how I’ll study for my next exams during this weekend and I feel so burnt out. Not having as many friends to talk to about it makes me feel worse too. I just went from graduating my middle school as valedictorian, to being one of the top scorers in my freshman year, to receiving my first lower grades my sophomore year while taking harder classes, to transferring to a new school this year and receiving not a 74 (that being my former lowest grade ever on a test), but a 54 and I feel like even if I studied more, it wouldn’t have made a difference because there was just not enough time for me to compose my thoughts and now, I feel like such a failure.

First of all, you're videos are great! They are honestly more helpful then my professors! I'm like a lost child at the grocery store trying to find mom when it comes to studying and studying habits. I'm sick and tired of failing! I always do horrible on all the tests and then the final, I magically score higher than all the exams combined! Unfortunately, this semester, I feel like I failed because I got a C in my Biology class. I mean, I am a biology major, and that C I got was like a basic major class, it was step one! I feel like I failed already. I cried, like actually cried when I saw the grade!!! But yea I distracted myself and today I just happen to stumble across your very informative and great advice! Honestly, thank you for existing!

Great tips I especially loved the end. I remember once hearing 'that greatness is not measured by the incredible things one can do, but how much failure it took before they could be discouraged'. (I think that was a football quote, lol) but it's true. I failed a lot but darn I think I'm Awesome and so are the people watching this!!!! Because we took initiative to watch this and find ways to keep on pushing, because a piece of us (which is strength) doesn't want to quit. Yay! :) (hope that helps anyone reading ;) )

What do you do if your biggest failure in life was making one mistake as a teenager that cost you your health? School, sports, women, and money, all the "first world" concerns that a lot of young men think about, were never an issue for me. I got straight A's, was a star athlete, had an amazing social life, and was investing my money before I even hit puberty. But when I was in high school I trusted one doctor's advice and ended up getting an elective medical procedure that has complicated my life. The procedure seriously messed up my physical health, and has left me with a great deal of anxiety, stress, and feeling traumatized. I have physical issues I have to deal with every day now. I went from getting straight A's to not being able to even show up for tests at school. I was still able to finish high school and get into a good college, but I didn't study at all in college and skipped class all the time even though I was pre-med. However, since I had developed a great foundation in academics from my early high school days before my health complications, I was able to recall things from high school to do well enough in college without studying much. Thus, I was able to get into medical school, surprisingly. Once I got to medical school, I realized if I didn't study I would not get by anymore. I couldn't handle my health problems and also perform in medical school, or perform in much less anything else in life. I literally wouldn't open my study materials till the night before, and I of course did poorly. You can't skip all your classes and then just study the day before in medical school for major courses that cover tons of material. So I dropped out of medical school after a year into it since I couldn't handle it with my health issues, and haven't figured out yet as to how I will bounce back in life so I can reach my potential, all while having health problems. I know I need to adapt to my situation and find what works for me, but I've just been struggling for years to find a way to bounce back in life so I can manage my health conditions so I can then pursue my goals. But honestly, I just want my health back, the other things like my career as a doctor, women, etc. aren't as important to me anymore. I would trade success in all those categories just to have my health. Not really sure how I should approach my life now when my health is compromised and I'm also dealing with some aspects of trauma from the procedure. I'm not going to give up though, just still struggling to get it together and haven't quite found a way to bounce back so I can, one day, pursue my goals again. But I haven't gotten my health under control, there are some experimental procedures to improve the situation, but they also pose risks. Some say I should just move on and try to work with my health issues, others say I should explore other medical procedures to fix the problem even though there aren't any perfect solutions. Because of this experience, I have completely changed how I look at life. Now I always say that as long as you and your loved ones are healthy and safe... life is pretty damn good.

Although yes ,it isnt the end of the world cuz i still have mid year and end of year exams but what i am afraid now is the dissapointed face from my parents that will be engraved in my memory .
