Other than low powr, what is the detriment of "excessively lean" operation? Over heat? destruction from lack of lubrication?

I think you should mention that this is a ringed engine in the title. According to os instructions an ABC engine is broken in differently. Wide open and alternating rich to lean for a couple of tanks, slowly going toward leaner and ready to fly. ABC engines are more common if your picking up a new one.

Ive got over 9 supertigre 40s that has zero compression ive ran them way longer than they should have broken in along with that the botton conrods are all sloppy fit , i love the a.b.c. ones tho, the cylinders were not right from factory i think

They sill make those things? I have been all electric but 1 gasoline 35% Yak for maybe last 10 years .

Not sure what your point is. I’ve had a few Lee modified K&Bs. Good engines
