I literally just picked up my new skates today! Edea also, but different model. I’ll see how many of these I can do, since I’m also switching from 8” to 7” blades (and freestyle to dance ones) at the same time. Pray that I don’t die on Monday 😅
@SparkleSkater3 жыл бұрын
I know that switching to dance blades may be hard in the beginning because they are shorter, but you will do great in them! Will you be switching between freestyle and dance skates, or just sticking with the dance ones? Don’t worry I know you will do great! Let me know how it goes!

@@SparkleSkater Thanks! I’ll be using the same ones for everything. I got the Showgirl boot, which is kind of a hybrid - low cut but stiff. My new blades are also the dance version of Coro Ace, which is basically the same blade with its tail chopped off. So, freestyle friendly also (to an extent)... I skated on them a bit while the blades were being mounted and adjusted and shortness didn’t seem to bother me much, but the rocker feels very different

Thanks for the tips... Been roller skating on Riedells my whole life and just switched to Edea Flamenco boots and I'm suffering in every way you described - especially with outside edges - and especially at my age. 🤗 They are UNBELIEVABLY stiff compared to my Riedell 336's that were well broken-in, but I'm positive the Edeas are going to be great once I get past the initial torture, but omg, wow. 🤣

So cool! I just got new skates on Thursday from the pro shop at my rink except mine are Riedelle. I also find wearing them around the house (with guards on, of course) helps a lot too. ☺ When I wore them today at the rink, they were perfect!
@SparkleSkater3 жыл бұрын
Yes! I love wearing my skates around the house when they are new, it helps you break them in without even having to be on the ice

@@SparkleSkater I got a new pair of Edea Concerto and I've wore them around the house too, hoping they're a little bit more comfortable when I go to the rink! I went to the Edea pro dealer and tried several on, but my left foot does feel uncomfortable :( hoping it will go away once I break them

Hi, my daughter just got Piano skates and they are very stiff. Should we have the pro shop punch them out or mold them ?
@mrsfrappucchinoblub60052 жыл бұрын
get them punched :) Edea skates can not be heat molded cause they aren't made out of leather and they are designed to fit right away. Hopefully it helps!
@symbasymba1602 жыл бұрын
@@mrsfrappucchinoblub6005 hi our coach said they can mold them , even if they are not leather. The pro shop said they can mold them , I guess they can . It’s very stiff and my daughter can’t even jump in them
@SparkleSkater2 жыл бұрын
@@symbasymba160 You can heat mold them with a hair dryer. You can't bake them in the skate machine because that will ruin the material of the skates.
@mrsfrappucchinoblub60052 жыл бұрын
@@symbasymba160 that's totally normal, especially Pianos are very stiff :) it depends on the level/age your daughter is, for Pianos to be worked properly, you need to have a certain skill level so you can start bending them. If your skate technician says you can mold them, go ahead, I so far only heard the opposite, that they can not. Let me know the results if you like! :)
