It's been awhile since the last running video, yet I have found the time to upload a 2024 Marathon Training video kzfaq.info/get/bejne/jMCWpJSk3quZaas.htmlsi=jJEpiW2n6K9REehG. I do not run track competitively anymore but I love running so much I can never stop. I have a lot more running videos planned. I have one for the 400m dash coming soon. I'm also planning another Track and Field story video that will motivate you guys just as much as the first one did. Stay tuned and hit the like button. I got yaw! Also follow me on instagram: @RashaadRahh :-) - What to Eat Before a Race or a Game For All Athletes: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l62YiaSA386Xn3k.html

Very helpful indeed! Maureen Spears! Running has been my favorite method of transport since I was about 18, when my younger brother became a 'boy scout" (do we have such things in USA? - I grew up in South Africa.) Christopher excitedly told me about "Scout's Pace": "You run fifty paces, then you walk fifty paces . . . run, walk, run walk. . . You can do a mile in ten minutes - and you can keep it up indefinitely!!" I'm now 86, and every weekday morning I jog/walk to the Senior Centre, 1.6 miles away - and around 5pm, I jog/walk back. I'm frequently offered a lift, and have to explain, "Thank you - but I do this for fun." Actually, I also it for the sense of contact with my brother, who died in his thirties in a car crash - he was very dear to me. And because I enjoy the exercise - it's a wonderful way of starting the day. And it gives me a feeling of being young again . . . even though I'm now 86. I now look forward to reading your other tips. Thank you very much indeed! Sincerely, Maureen

Breathe through your nose and out of your mouth for as long as you can. I usually do three steps inhale... Three steps exhale. When you are nearing your end of your run and ready to sprint it out... Then switch to breathing in and out of your mouth. If you straight up breathe in and out of your mouth from the get go you will not last long, this is just from personal experience. I’m not a pro runner lol.

Diaphramic rhythmic breathing, the crucial part is to not keep exhaling and take a step continually on same side (especially the left, alternating's key), breath in for 3 steps, exhale for 2, when going up hill switch to a 2:1. That's the best way I've found, hope it helps.

It's more about exhaling the carbon dioxide than inhaling oxygen. Research says you should always try to breathe through your nose as far as possible. then you can go for inhaling from nose and exhaling from mouth and at last use your mouth. This technique is applicable for any sports excluding swimming 😂 also in general one should always try to extend the inhaling and exhaling time for the whole respiration process to take place efficiently. Alos you can listen to Joe Rogan podcast w/James Nestor where he talks why Mouth breathing is bad under any circumstances.

used to run a mile and a half every night in under 11 minutes. Starting off youll always be out of breath but I learned that just generally controlling your breath and being well hydrated beforehand are by far the best advice. Any way you breathe, if its uncontrolled it wont be fully absorbed into your body and it wont dump your carbon dioxide well. Ive always breathed in slow through my nose and exhaled slightly faster through my mouth. That control just comes mainly through practice though.

I've always been told to breath in through my nose and out through my mouth. I'm not sure if you've heard of this breathing method before, but if you have do you think that breathing the way that feels more natural is better than this?

Hey Rashaad, I wanted to let you know something that i think is interesting, long distance running and sprints help you gain muscle instead of losing it, unless you run like 90 miles a day (even then youd only lose muscle in your leg)

When I was running for my high school, I was always told to try breathing through my nose. I know one gets really tired and get tempted to breathe through your mouth (esp. running long distance), but it helps to control my breathing and forces my body to salvage my oxygen and be more efficient with my energy use. But then when my body really tired I’m just like, “lol nah” and rip the last 100 (talking about 400m and cross country) 🤧🤧🤧

I was expecting more of an in depth look at an actual technique or technique's that may work. For example: - Is it better to correlate your inhalation and exhalation with your steps, per second breathing, or just freeform it? - Should one hyperventilate immediately prior a run to increase oxygen intake and prolong exertion? - Should one focus on Costal breathing (Expanding of the ribs) or Diaphragmatic breathing while running? Things like that or even trying those out for the video. Because I pray that everyone that's ever ran would most precisely know to breathe with their nose and mouth. I'm not trying to like troll or anything I just did'nt expect to watch this video and be told that your body breathes proper naturally. That's not a technique that's just a fact. :/ Keep up the good work and helping others through the videos though. :D
