The ultimate technique: 1. inverted 2. Rinse Paper filter 3. 30g (fine-medium 4/10 ; 1=espresso; 10=French press) 4. Start timer 5. 150ml (85 ‘C) water 6. 20 stirs 7. Place the filter cap. 8. Purge all the air out. 9. Wait to brew until 1min. 10. Plunge gently for 20s~40s. 11. Should have left with 110ml ~ 120ml coffee. 12. Dilute: + 100~150ml of water.

I have an Aeropress and I use it everyday. It make a great cup of coffee without all these special recipes, scales, timing, using it inverted. That's what make it so great. In the end I would bet in a blind taste test nobody could tell the difference.

Wow, delicious! I’m a coffee enthusiast but definitely an amateur, and I’ve been brewing with Aeropress for years. Like you, I’ve tried dozens of methods and have had so many unsuccessful brews. I followed your recipe and am so happy with how it turned out! Can’t wait to share this with my friends. ☺️🥳🤓☕️

The bit at the end was absolutely perfect. I’ve tried so many Aeropress recipes with sub par to occasionally bad results only to find the original intended method Adler included was the most consistent least fiddly recipe. That being said I respect your opinion so much I will be trying your method. Thanks for sorting through the bullshit for us. Now I will go back to binging through your videos.

Trying to roast coffee at home using the stove and pan method to very little success 😅. Under roasted my first batch and then scorched my second batch. Thirds time lucky, I hope hahaha... Thanks for a most entertaining and informative video. After I bought my aeropress I tried out 5 international winners' recipes including the original one and kept on feeling slightly dissatisfied. Then I tried yours and realized that this was it. Everyone who has tasted your recipe has been amazed (except for my in-law but that's another story) and became an aeropress fan. Thank you again. Oh, one thing, it is not absolutely clear whether to start timing when you pour in the water or after you purge the air out. I figure it is from when you pour in the water. Is that right? Really a good job.
@mariai9549
@mariai9549 3 жыл бұрын
I thought the same. if you start counting when air is purged it already 30 seconds. then waiting another minute with all that agitation of a finer grind could make it over extracted. just have to try it ...

I am on a similar page in terms of grind size. However, bypass/dilution has never really done it for me. Maybe im just used to the flavour profile of all water in (i typically use 1:15 for 12grams of coffee) but anyway,lowe ratios diluted seem weak and flat to me. Dunno, i know its recommended often.

I don't ever recommend pushing down on the scale (even just to purge the air) and also; I invert the cup and put it on top of the aeropress, and flip the ap back upright, with the cup on top, less risk of making mess

This sounds pretty much like just plain immersion brewing. What does the Aeropress add to this process? I have a beautiful Italian espresso machine at home that stands ready heated up when I come down in the morning so I only need something else when travelling. I have found that immersion brewing is by far the most forgiving way of brewing an good cup of coffee when travelling. It still makes excellent coffee even when my grind sizes, volumes and weights are off. I still think that good freshly roasted coffee is very important though.
