Though the tea set looks really nice but the quality isn't good, you can see the water dribbling down the spout down onto the base of the teapot.. It should pour smoothly with no dribbling.

By the time you get to the third rinse the water must be down to at least 85 degrees, no?

Very nice. Im curious, why two rinses?

because it's a ripe puerh and heavily fermented. the leaves can have a wet pile taste for the first couple of infusions. you don't have to rinse twice but it's something that many people do.

Haha, definitely not hella rich, but you are correct. It is an expensive tea. It was a wedding gift from my aunt in China.

@@conman20000 The teapot has loose tea leaves in it. Unless you fancy tea leaf bits in your cup, it's best she uses the other items: a filter and a separate pot for serving the tea.

@@conman20000 The second vessle is called a gong dao bei, or fairness cup. When brewing tea gong fu style you brew very short steepings and seconds can affect the tea. If you pour the tea in one cup first and then the other the tea in the different cups will taste different. The gong dao bei makes sure that all cups are equal. Also, if the capacity of the pot is bigger than the cups you can save the extra tea in the gong dao bei. An alternative to using a gong dao bei is to pour back and forth between the preheated cups, which to my experience, makes an even better tea.

This is pretty much how the Chinese steep Pu Erh. However, if steeped this way, the tea loses most of its nutrition. Actually most of its nutrition is already gone during the first rinse. So Pu Erh is for those who really like its taste and only its taste. Otherwise go for green tea or oolong.

Warming the cups are for optimum taste. So that your tea don’t turn cold touching the cold cups. But if you want it fast you can still enjoy great tea. Just skip the rinsing part. Which starts from the 5th min of this video. So it only took 1 min. However dark tea requires rinsing to wake the tea leaves up. As you grew to like tea and have better appreciation of the taste, you would naturally brew it to its best state for your own enjoyment.

too much Cha Cha Cha... meaning to much waste and wasting time. rinsing cups, aren't the cups already washed? Guess I'm not into it. I do like to drink tea. my mother would hate when I'd leave hot food on table. I know it's there, I'll eat when I want to attitude, didn't want to wait.at restaurants have no choice but to wait. I have Chinese tea's, wanted to see if I was brewing it correctly. I'll stick to my own way of brewing.

you rinse them with hot water to warm them. its more of a game than necessity. youre playing with your tea, relaxing and experimenting to find the best flavor. trying to lose yourself in the process, to forget about the world around you for a few momens.

don't you know you're not suppose to play with your food? lol. I hear you. my 10yr old daughter didn't approve of my comment, after listening to her argument and you "losing yourself in the process" I am humbled...
