If that’s for a habitable room then you have serious cold bridging problems! You should be using proper insulated cavity closers. It’s not 1960.

Could you not of put a bit of slate accross that instead of muck on the insulation ?

Budd, you are truly an artist! The look of that whole opening is very appealing - plain, and yet it has a lot of “pop” to it. Will the block wall be painted, covered or left alone? Honestly, if this were my property, I’d paint it the color that the block naturally is, add some shutters in navy and leave it at that. I really like that ‘simple’ look!

Looks like there should be something to stop any moisture getting through the brick cill into the insulation below.

Plasterboard will go over the sills and then get plastered, the bricks are to just build up the height.

Should’ve used a cut block to build the height tho, put a cavity closer in and then installed the window

Time you get 20/25 mm dab and board on that there won’t be much frame on show also please explain the cold bridge not being dealt with ,and why spend so much time pointing it if it’s covered . If not covered well I’d be speechless

@@CNorman18 I did think that but thought he was doing a fairly tidy job of it so thought maybe was a detail finish to the sills? If that’s the case I understand

100% cold bridging with damp transference through the reveal , and nothing supporting the back of the bricks either, no point putting mortar against the plastic frame, it won't stick!!, disastrous.
