Good job, Gary! GPAA has been making a bundle of money on those clean up sluices for years. Heres a little tip, when you see the mobile gutter installers in your neighborhood, they will usually give you a piece of gutter for nothing. I have used these with the two bucket 12 V bilge pump recirculating method. They work great once you figure out the proper rate of fall. Thanks for all the hard work you put into your videos. You my friend are a wealth of information for both the beginner prospector and us old timers!

Use metal if you need it more sturdy. I use a metal track that's used in framing. Found at every Menards or home Depot. They come in 2 1/2 up to 6in wide and 10ft long for less than $10.

Oh and by the way I have bought several items from your E-Bay Store and just want others to know "if Gary builds it our sells it" You can rest assured it is quality through and through Big Thank You .

Thanks to you Gary, we built our own adjustable cleanup sluice so we could adjust the rate of fall, but I welded rifflers to catch the extra smalls that might have got lost. Finally like you, we added the roll and extended our sluice to suit our prospecting. You painstakingly built a beaut there. You have a wonderful simple method, and above all are patient. You're a great teacher, too. So many thanks to you, though I should have thanked you sooner. All the very best!

Amazing coincidence Gary, I just made one of these yesterday! What I found is that the double inside lip gutter is extremely hard to find now. I had to find some second hand gutter for both side with an internal lip. New gutters only have the internal lip on one side. Great video though. 👍 Cheers, Ken in Australia

separating the black sand can be extremely tough when the black sand is larger than your gold. I'm definitely going to try this! The amount of black sand I have is incredible. Will let you know how it goes. Don't have a yardstick but got a carload of 1x2's which should work fine. Thank you sir!

Great video thanks for showing how to make this... I live in Wisconsin so we have no real need here for a gold pan. But I do have some old bags of safety that split open. So I want to see if there's any gold in it like I've seen others find... So I'll make a screem to sceen it down and make me one of those being I already got everything but the mat, and I'm sure Manards will have that... Thanks again... BUT I would really like to see how you run it... Be blessed...

Couple of questions: It looks in your end shot of the glue-in vs. the slide-in version that the FLAT side is UP. is that just a trick of the light-and-camera? Also - what is the length of those little jewels? And why did you decide on THAT length? And again - most gutter systems have premade end caps. Why not use those instead of the cut-and-bend version? Great sluices! Some of us are a little slow, though, and need more info. (Me, for example.)
@TwoToes

They are a little over 3 feet. The mat comes 3 foot wide, that is the longest you can go. I'm cheep, why buy a end cap when you can make one in 5 minuets. Thanks - Gary

Two years later and people like me are still finding and watching this for the first time! Definitely going to be making one of these as soon as I can get the materials together. A couple questions: the first is what kind of solvent did you use for cleaning off the xtra glue? The second is can you get away with using gutter that isn’t grooved on the top? If at least one side was grooved would it be pretty straight forward to glue down the other side? Ok, 3 questions.

I found the mat.. Is was at a different Lowe's.. $3.75 per ft × 36" wide... and I also ordered one from Home Depot that is 1/8 inch thick.. the one that Lowe's is 1/16 inch thick.. But the one at Home Depot you've got to buy the roll.. It's 4ft × 8ft and it cost $62.00 after taxes.. Oh and the gutter was also hard to find.. I eventually found it at a Lowe's, but they did had me on a run around.. they said that they didn't stock that item anymore, and I found it accidentally at a Lowe's.. We have Lowe's stores around me that are like 7-Elevens.. In every city almost.. Lol.. But I used the end cap that they sell for that gutter and it works a whole lot better.. it locks in and it's also watertight
