Sadly, there are millions of people out there with no life besides staring at their phone. Negative comments, stirring the pot, and their "likes" are the only source of stimulation. Back when I started watching This Old House on WGBH in 1979, if I criticized what was on the TV screen, the only one that heard it was me!

The Danish oil finish is nice but not sufficient for a coffee table. Once the oil finish has cured after 72 hours it should have a poly or Waterlox clear topcoat to protect it from spills. Danish oil won't waterproof it.

That cutting truck is not correct cause if you do one cut then it wouldn’t get dull if your doing multiple cuts your doing more cuts so the more cuts the more dull the stress on the blade is it would just follow the grain if you go too fast just go slow it’ll be fine

Biscuits are a tolerable joint, but not all that strong. As much as I dislike the absurd ripoff prices Festool charges (not one tool they make is actually worth the price), my Domino XL is one of the most useful, game-changing tools I have. Biscuits simply don't have much strength, but Dominos are as strong as real mortise-and-tenon joints. If time isn't an issue (I'm a pro, so it is for me, hence owning this machine), dowels are pretty close to Dominos and there are a lot of ways to align/drill the holes. I used to use biscuits for drawer boxes, which I think is an acceptable application for them, though now I glue and brad-nail the boxes and then come back and drill holes across the joints and glue in dowels.
@Stillnapie
@Stillnapie 4 жыл бұрын
@@bmay8818 Festool is worth every dime. I do it for a living myself, the system (track saws, routers, sanders, duct collection, dominos) is what makes it great. The pricing is a direct result of zero competition in the US. I have seen other brands when I was in Germany that keeps the pricing there more competitive. Biscuits are great for alignment and I still use them but the 700 is the champ in the shop. I sold a horizontal slot mortiser and the 700XL replaced it. Far easier to take the tool to the work.
