Hi do you have plans for a 2 seat Cross kart? I have a triumph 955i engine to put in it and have an old Chinese buggy I was going to reinforce and completely strip and rebuild but a new frame would probably be nicer that only bit remains of the Chinese buggy is the registration number so it can be made road legal 😀

You are quite skilled! Love how you show a person doesn't have to have the Shop full of expensive tools. Just capable Tools in capable hands. Keep designing and building. I started with carts when I was young. Then progress to cars and 4 x 4's and finally ultralights and airplanes. The thrill of Designing and Building never grows old. And The Only Thrill that matches it, is when you use it for the first time.

A quick tip for the axles, when you go to the scrap yard pull off the hubs that go on the trans itself. You can modify them so you don't have to make your own custom ones. Plus if you ever break something you don't have to start from 0, just go pull another hub and use that.

Suggestion cut axle in middle put precision sleeve to join two halves together should have enough room between sprocket & brake disc to make sleeve long enough to be strong enough. That way each axle half could slide out allowing replacement of bearings & disc or sprocket.Use of quick change sprocket recommended if available.Awsome build I want a set of plans as soon as they are available! Would love to go tear up some dirt with you some time!

Great build so far, might i suggest in a few spots drilling half into the cv adapter and half into the driveshaft tapping and running a long grub screws to act similar to a keyway setup. The shaft could also be bored and tapped with a bolt and large washer to capture the grub screws so they cannot back out.

You are very talented. This series i stumbled into has been very informative. I am curious to know if this Crosskart design is legal as a cross kart that can be raced in varying competative environments. American Rally Association just recently allowed cross karts and side by sides in. The US CrossKarts can be quite expensive and this looks like a proper solution for me to be able to compete with one.

Differentials are pretty easy to make. You can make one from a Mazda miata 1.5 litre without specialized tools. Anyways you should put a keyway in that shaft. Maybe tap a hole in the end and use a big washer on it to hold it together.

Nice I am at a point to were I'm trying to figuring out how to tension my chain I have a pretty heavy Spring tensioner under the chain it's still a little long so it seems like I need some downward force on the top of it to because it wants to skip over the drive sprocket when I let off the throttle. O Mazda miata axles are pretty lightweight with flanges

Let me start by saying the skills you possess at your age you’ve got a VERY awarding future ahead of you! Seriously, all the money and tools in the world will never make the man, you’re either born with it, will learn it over a lifetime, or you should just stop and realize your talents are perhaps something not in the fabrication world and move on. Here you are with simplistic tools in a very small shop and your teaching me a 47 year old who would like to think he’s pretty damn good at fabricating (mostly the CAD element as I’m just old enough where I understand enough of it but never use it and end up doing it old school trial and error because that’s simply all there was when I was young) But the small stuff that you show like lining up your mounting plates square so many people would never do and fight it all the way to completion scratching off powder coating and still end up with a dog walking cart LOL.. You may not realize it but you’re teaching in many ways that you probably take for granted and don’t even know it! Great job! The only thing I wish was improved would be the addition of splined surfaces instead of welding. But with having to source out a shop willing to do a small job and not charge ludicrous money and taking forever because more important jobs making more money keep you on the back burner just isn’t in the budget on a cheap kart build so I totally get it.

Very well made ! Good that you print out those cutting patterns for the pipe, I just guess lol. How come front a arms are equal lengths? I made my top a arms shorter so you gain negative chamber as it compresses to help with cornering, like a trophy truck has. I have seen a lot of front suspension setups like yours on smaller buggies is it just for simplicity or does it function better?

Love the vids brother,I enjoy watching the content you have provided. My question is,at the point in which a project such as this one has reached its completion, the next step is testing. If all goes well with initial testing, step two would be the "shake down" I believe. Now,do you have a propper pilot capable for a sufficient "shake down"?I think one of the first skills necessary to posses by a skilled pilot is surely one with kahuna the size of ones fist.I appolagize for my slack jaw literature but my notes are not available for precise measurement numbers at this time. That said,I would like to forward you my credentials for the pilot position. The name to look for the email is"SENDIT". I specialize in all alloys ability to withstand unworldly conditions and subject weld strengths beyond any traditional standards.Obviously I no longer work in or with anything from China. Never the less, successful testing with my name behind it will free up many advenrtiserouse avenues in the field you possess the talent for. Honestly,I'm full of shit bro,I would like to see if we could make that thing fly though.lol Best wishes and bless you and your family in the coming years.

Instead of welding the center shaft, you could mount an end mill into the lathe chuck and the axle into the tool holder. Field expedient mill! I saw Rather B Welding do several keyways like this. That would allow for the axle to be end drilled and tapped for a washer and bolt for retainer. as for the endcaps, there is no problem with a rounded keyway. just use a drill.

How do you plan to get the sprocket on the driveshaft/ how do you plan to make sprocket swapping available?? The inside diameter of your sprocket doesn't look like it will clear the acceptor plates you've welded onto the driveshaft, or the square blue bearing housings you've trapped on the driveshaft.
