With that simple piece of rebar on the back of that fire pit, you can make endless accessories. Well, you could. I couldn't. It's a genius design, plain and simple.

Like I said the other day. "Look at the steel scraps with a vision. Take one piece and add another till the job is done. That scrap in my shop never grows or shrinks any more. There seems to always be a just right hanging around in there. Love yer thinking on this one old friend. Grape "seed" oil is a great anti rust and all round fire grill cleaner as well. Beeswax is good but it tastes kind of yucky ! That and a few cross pieces under the rods at 90 deg as well to help stop the existing grill rods from bending around too much. I do like the way your noggin works ! thanks bud.

Hey Kevin. I hope you and Julie are doing good! I've been planting potatoes and I'm expanding my garden this year. Looks like you've been busy. I like the build your doing. I wish I could come up with something like you have. Been wanting to buy a welder but I think that's been put on hold now for a while. I have a buddy and he's from Michigan and he told me that you can now be fined if you grow your own garden vegetables. At first I thought he was joking, but I asked his wife and she said that it was true. Now in my book That's one of the craziest things I have ever heard of. Why would anybody want to fine someone for growing their own food? Here where I live is mostly a farming community. There are factories here also but theres a lot of people been laid off. I used to be a carpenter and I always had jobs. I got my building license, and everything took off from there. My dad was a contractor and I had mine also. I hope and pray this virus will just go away and they find a cure for everyone. But I hope you and yours stay healthy and I'll talk at you later...…………………...

If I had a height adjustment like that I could compensate for the 2 inches I've lost in my 81 years.

Nice job Kevin! I really enjoy watching you craft solutions to problems by making useful projects for any of us to follow if we want to do the project. Do you need the upper secondary ring if you lay the hotdogs or brats sideways so that they lay in the natural space between the wire pieces? I can see adding the extra ring if you were to lay the dogs sideways so that they were not to lay in the grove between two side-by-side wires. Very nice job overall.

Hey Kevin, would it be worth it to cut the bottom handle off the grate and weld @ a 3" piece of 1/2 pipe at the base and insert the re-rod when needed? Stuff like that always worries me if there's little ones around! Looking grate!😂 😂😂 :>)>
