That has to be the best and simplest video of instruction I have ever seen. As a senior lady, I need to work smarter not harder. (and no obnoxious background music) Thanks!!

Instead of using an adhesive, can I cement it instead?

Great work and video. But doesn't concrete expand and explode in high heat? Wondering if this was a problem for you with this design. Cheers.

IMO the distance between the steel pit and the ground where the concrete was poured, is far enough not to pose a threat to the concrete (plus gap of gravel inbetween). The steel pit itself absorbs a lot of the heat as well and perhaps have some kind of insulation. Purely guessing. Also IMO I would've left out the concrete altogether and stacked the bricks straight onto the gravel.

Nothing funny in South Africa to stick your hands into concrete (esp when feeling the consistency). Stupid, I know, but we kinda do it like that out here 😉

Dude, how big a fire are you planning to build?! Did you see the few pieces of wood he had on there? Out here we sit around a fire pit and booze, we don't build bonfires to make sacrifices to Hephaestus (FYI: Greek God of Fire)
