How to build a GIANT LNG-POWERED CRUISE SHIP - AIDAcosma - CINEMATIC TIMELAPSE 4K

Жыл бұрынBuilt at Meyer and Neptun Shipyards in Germany and Meyer Turku in Finland, AIDAcosma is part of a new generation of LNG Powered Cruise Ships for Carnival Cruises - the Helios Class. The vessel is 337m Long and can house 6.600 passengers. Building was started in Oktober 2019 and the vessel was christened on 9th of April 2022.
We filmed the entire construction process with our advanced MK V4 timelapse cameras, shooting 40mp images every single minute.
Meyer is one of the largest and most modern shipyards in the world with about 3300 employees, and home to the largest roofed dry docks in the world. The first covered dock was inaugurated in 1987 and was 370 meters long, 101,5 meters wide and 60 meters high. In 1990/91 the dock was extended by an additional 100 meters. In 2004, a second covered dock was built, which is announced to be extended to a full length of 504 meters, a width of 125 meters and height of 75 meters in order to compete with Asian shipyards. Meyer Werft will as a result of this be able to build three cruise ships a year.

For the life of me, I could never see myself going on holidays one one of these cruise ships. But it's so fascinating, watching how they are built! I really enjoy these time lapse videos!
