In this video, I show you how to build a simple shed ramp. Building a Shed Ramp is not super complicated and can be completed pretty quickly. This step-by-step shed ramp building tutorial will show you everything you need to know so that you can build your own shed ramp.
There are many different ways to build a shed ramp, but this method worked for me!

Good design that I will probably use. I couldn't help but chuckle though at the trial and error approach to figuring out the angles, including the comment saying that it's not an exact science. Geometry is, in fact, an exact science.

Another way is measure the distance from the ground to the door of the shed. To determine the length, figure out the rise and run. For example, if you have a 9 inch rise, cut the stringers at a 3/12 pitch which would give you a length of 36 inches- for every 12 inches of length, you have 3 inches of rise. You can then notch out for the ledger board and taper the end of the stringer to the ground. Concrete or even some bricks under the ends will have stability as well as blocking between the stringers. Many ways to get the job done.

Great video. I cut the 8 degree angle on the ledger board too. Used the left over Trex to cover the two sides.

Good looking ramp, especially with the leftover deck boards. If using pressure-treated wood, I would probably coat them with paint or a waterproof finish with a bit of fine sand so that the boards aren’t slick in the rain.

Excellent ramp. I thought you would pour leftover concrete in wood forms or mathematically calculate the size, angles etc of the woodwork but you did it much easier and i see you worked alone this time.

Nice work, and I need to build one before spring for my lawn mower. I paid 4K for some box store shed kit and it’s frustrating knowing that I could have built a bigger and stronger shed for that price or less

Yep. Tried telling my co worker that. I just paid $3750 for a 3 year old used shed delivered and leveled. It’s a fully insulated lofted barn, 10x20’. New would have costed $10k. Facebook marketplace!

how far down from the shed base do you attatch the ledger board? to allow the doors to close?

This is a nice video. I'm ready to go with my just delivered Amish shed. One question. I'd like to use 2×4s for the joists. Is that what you used? Is that fine? Ramp will be 4' wide by 28" deep
