Yep too many bar stool body critics 4 my liking. It looks neat and it's a nostalgia piece is all it really is. I got hired for a one time driver fill in position in a late model race whereas the 70's camaro and Chevelle bodies are still legal in our Late Model and our Sportsman Late Model series you can run both provided you have the safety equipment for the Sportsman class... I did not fit in my buddies car I was too big and the set up too small so I improvised I sprayed my old Sportsman late model with a satin black primer and put a white Dale E. #3 on the door and the red and silver stripe all the way down the body line and went out on the track. My dad told me if I ever returned to the car to it's former self I would get disowned he likes it now. The fans loved the nostalgia I stirered up during that race... I ended up wining after 3 close calls and I caught the part of a big wreck had to cut the hood clean off my car and the fans ran away with it during the white flag a couple guys and girls ran out of the pits with the hood from the car and out into the parking lot. It's funny what nostalgia does to people... The hood had been setting against the pit fence right where ya come in the pit gate my guys never went for it they were too busy watching me kick ass... Some guy from Reading Pa. threw his hood in the back of truck as we were leaving people were still screaming and yelling an hour after that race ended because I fought hard Dale style to win the shit..

Besides if you wanted a 100% screen accurate replica one would have to choose a season and episode to do so. It's like KITT replicas. You have the pilot car, season 1 before KARR, after KARR. Season 2 car and seasons 3/4 cars.

If you pay us to do it, we will. If you want the budget van, this is what you get. I don't get up in the morning to work for free. To install the fiberglass mirrors uses almost $1000 in materials, but the entire door has to be modified to remove and fill in the original mirror mounts. Some of the things that were missed don't cost much, but they take time, time is money, and frankly some customers don't care about certain little details. A lot of details on movie and tv cars are created out of laziness, like the painted door handles, I am sure that they just sprayed over them. If you paint over chrome it WILL come off, so you would first have to sand blast them, acid etch them, paint them and then clear coat them, while being disassembled. So for a TV show they will say "screw it, just spray it with a can in between scenes!" You can't see the details on TV. I bet if you could see one of the screen used vans up close during filming they looked like dog shit. Go back and watch the show on a 4K TV on DVD and you can see the interior walls are wavy and falling down from where they were just spray glued in place, there is black duct tape on the fender wells where the fiberglass cracked, this thing was slapped together in a hurry by stunt guys. So to recreate it in a way to be a road worthy daily driver vehicle you have to make some decisions, such as the mirrors, they look cool if your intent is a museum display but if you actually want to DRIVE it, you might want to be able to see out of it instead of a 3" mirror! We would have installed the running boards, but the company we ordered them from send us the shorty versions, so the customer ordered the correct ones and is going to install them locally, later, along with the custom exhaust. This video was to point out all the things that were wrong about the van and how the differences, so we KNOW what is "wrong" with it, you just have to pay attention.

The rig is good but if at every other moment you hear that, it sounds like an excuse , the money explanation sounds suspect. I'm not saying the original was perfect. My point is you saying "we didn't have time" to do "x" isnt a good optic. If I remember the build didn't have a time constraint to be up for a riddler. All in all damn good build. I tinker a bit and by no means sayin I'm better, and some folks may not care but hearing those phrases hit me.

That's exactly what I was thinking. As long as the paint scheme is correct it will be easy to identify as the A Team van. Hell, if you want something a bit smaller you could even use a Chevrolet Astro cargo van.
