I have a question. I built a robotic lawnmower running 24v motors.I installed a 24v alternator(one wire), Its belt driven from the drive crank of the mower. My problem seems to be that its not doing a great job charging. I connected the the positive wire from the alternator to the positive lead on the battery. I also took a ground wire and attached to frame. Should I be doing something else? Its definitely not the normal project. I thought in theory that the batteries would maintain charge and the alternator would support the amps. The mower might run for about 20 min and batteries are dead
