The first I’ve seen that’s done well, safely, and without power of some sort ... and no need to fill a reservoir or spray paint. Thank so much. This was the confirmation I needed to move forward with mine!

great video thanks for this simple variation on the 'off-grid' hot water concept. I have been wrestling with what system to do for my own cabin and your video brought right back to the simple basics and I particularly like the fact that it is pressurised. We have just got an artesian bore water system for our little ghost town which gives us 60psi without a pump. Thanks again.

You could plumb the hot water as a return back to your house and heat your house water too. that was why you ran the second pip. Subconscious was at work. lol. Nice video and I think the toe pointing worked well. Thank you for posting.

pipe not pip.

Dear Sir, Thanks so much for the break down and kicking my ass! It was very helpful. That s people have to do is make it SIMPLE instead of so many words that are CONFUSING. U should do videos since U have more COMMON SENSE to do the STEPS 1. 2. 3. 4. , and so on! Watch for my NEW UPCOMING videos. I will do some break downs on some other things in a month or 2.It is just finding the time.

Great video. About how much hot water do you get for how many feet of hose in the sun? I'm wanting to make sure that I have enough pipe in the sun to last 20 min.

What i did was use a recycling bin put water in the milk containers the other bin i just use glass and put water in it inside of the blue bin put glass over it and let the sun warm up the water. The question is do you or is there a better way of heating up water but i like the way you did it in this video ?

Im thinking 2 hose pipes on a y splitter from the house spigot. One hose for the solar powered hot water and one carrying cold water connected to a shower valve that controls the temperature.

Brilliant, just brilliant! How hot does the water get on average around noon and how long does it last per shower?
@sherylsmithflower2 жыл бұрын
If the weather is warm enough to feel comfortable taking a shower outside (75 degrees F or so for me), the water is too hot to use without adding cold water. And I like a hot shower. We got enough hot water for two people to shower without hurrying. I haven't tested it beyond two people. We had a well with kind of low pressure. With high pressure, there will be more flow and the hot water will run out sooner. Regarding the time of noon, I can't remember. I don't live there anymore. Would probably depend on the temperature of the day. If the overnight low was in the 70's and it's a sunny day, I would think it would be fine by noon. Hope that helps!

@@sherylsmithflower very nice. Helps a lot! Why don't you live there any more? Seems like the perfect place to be especially with all this craziness happening out in the world today :-)

What is the diameter of the tube you are using? How much volume of water will it heat before the tube starts to cool down? Also, do you notice any significant pressure drop as a result of the long tube?

This video is very interesting . But NOT fully clear HOW to build it. The details in general are NOT step by step HOW to build it! However, interesting. Just have to play it by ear ( trial and error to test it all out.))

Dear friends out there: is it better to ROLL UP a hose and let it sit in the sun? Or is it better just to let all kinks out from a rolled up hose? Or what do U suggest? or what has WORKD for ur with best RESULTS? Thx!

If you want to make it too just use InpliX handbooks.

Hi Phrederica: I have a similar system at my place, but the problem is that once the warm water that has been sitting in the pipe is used is used up, the warm hoses cannot warm the new cold water that enters the pipe fast enough, so even though the pipe is hot, the water comes out cold. Any ideas?

I am guessing you are using a garden hose? They don't hold much water. We used well pipe, which has a much larger diameter than a garden hose. Also, we have low water pressure. Two of us could take a shower, one after the other, and not ever run out of hot water. Hope this is helpful, and happy showering!

You should go to inplix webpage if you want to learn how to build it yourself.

We have about 200 feet of pipe, and it is enough for two people to take a shower without being rushed. We've never run out of water after two showers. 20 minutes is a long time, however! We've never timed it so I'm not sure. Also, we have relatively low water pressure, which slows down the flow and makes the hot water last longer. Hope this helps, and good luck making your shower!

I think Mr. Whyte is joking about the hose. 1. It isn't enough hot water. 2. There is no temperature control; sometimes the water will be way too hot coming out of a garden hose, and you won't be able to do anything about it.

I added a second video, but youtube won't let me put a link here. It is called "How to build an outdoor solar shower part 2 - drawings and tips." It is under a different youtube account. It has some hopefully helpful drawings and hints.

Sorry, the second video is under the Phrederica name. Just click my name and you can find it. Sorry for the confusion!
