Here is a video of how to make Japanese Shoji screen to raise and lower.
Processing cypress wood to make Shoji screen to raise and lower.
Shoji screens commonly used in Japan are sliding doors.
I produced a shoji that raises and lowers.
It can be embedded in the wall to view the outside of the room and ventilate the room.
Enjoy the process of making Japanese Shoji screen to raise and lower.
Thank you

Awesome, I learned a lot by watching this and other videos of your channel! What are you using to lock de panels in place after sliding? I want to start making one but can't seem to find those since I don't know what they are called.

Looks easy to make that window but with those big equipment to use its too expensive to make one.

I am working on building mu own kind of Shoji window but am not sure if its going to work here in Northern California, it gets freezing temperature during winter time and if i use that paper for the window, for sure its not going to work. So i will improvise something but not sure yet unless you can recommend something else thanks.

Surely that would be difficult to do on paper. Acrylic sheets instead of paper, as in this video, seem to be a good choice👇 kzfaq.info/get/bejne/l7F6ZKST0tXZpZc.html

Amazing craftmanship! What kind of metal clip are you using to keep the screens in place when lowering/raising them?

In Japan, special paper is commonly sold for affixing to shoji screens. Shoji paper is softer than ordinary, standard paper. In the future, if I receive many similar comments, I will try to sell Japanese tools, including shoji paper, on this channel🤗

Well, Technically all of this can be done using hand tools if u buy wood thats already cut to size. Also just FYI - American sarcasm isn’t understood in other cultures & can come across as quite hurtful 🫤
