I started weight training after one month of eating carnivore. I worked out with a trainer for a half hour, up to three times a week for 4 weeks. After 10 half hour sessions I lost 7.7 lbs of fat and gained 7.9 lbs of muscle. Not bad for a 70 year old woman. Love carnivore!

No need to make it complicated or micromanaged with the steak Shawn. Put 2 or 3 large nails (iron) cleaned, into the center of the steak. The nails will transfer the heat into the center and cook the steak from within. Much easier, much better results. I am 70 and have been doing this for the last 50 years. Works perfect every time.

Strangely enough, the exact opposite of what most people claim to struggle with happened to me after starting carnivore. I started gaining strength and muscle like crazy with my workouts in the gym. My workout sessions improved dramatically due to my increased levels of energy, which proves that carbohydrates aren't necessary for energy.

Semen retention and sexual abstinence increases androgen receptor density. Personally i have noticed increased muscle composition without working out over the two months i have been abstaining. Remarkable changes. Voice has deepened, improved hair and skin quality, energy is better, focus is better. for the first two months i was still eating junk food. For the last 10 days i have been on carnivore and am hoping to increase my bone density. I have been malnourished for too long.

It's sad that so many fitness experts espouse high carbs to gain muscle. Like you, I've had no problems working out and gaining muscle in the absence of carbs, as long as my protein intake is high enough. I eat more of a high protein keto. Eating just meat all the time does not appeal to me.

@@JosephQPublic exactly. that is no easy process for the body to do. so why not just eat 150g of carbs or carb cycle to sensitize to the carbs and become insulin sensitive. like one day 50g carbs and 200g and 100 and 150. Why eat 300g of protein so hopefully 150 will change to glucose. seems like a waste and just proof the body needs glucose and eat fruit and starch. when you could just eat a cheap potatoe or white rice to get 150g of carbs along with vitamin B and loads of potasium from the potato which is super essential electrolyte for brain and body function and to feel good. same thing with cholesterol which is also very difficult for the body (liver) to make 2,000mg a day when you can eat some poached eggs. sounds like the flawed vegan argument. we don't need cholesterol because the liver can maje it. no, kids and not everyone can make enough on its owb and very difficult. why eat and waste expensive protein just so the body change it into sugar glucose. unless there is some health or gut digestive or immune or brain problems trying to cure or treat or as an experiment. i eat average of 300g carbs a day or 350g. sometime 200 or 400 or 150 or 0. carbs are good and healthy and easier to get ripped with than mainstream keto. i have not tried longterm carnivore yet. keto is shit for the average person but can be utilized for short term fir certain benefits and to resensitize to insulin carbs. Just like protein fasting. its good as the body will recycle old cells and use as protein needs. so we don't need to eat it ever, right?

Reverse sear. I usually go to 130, but at 180 oven temp to bring it up to temp in 30 minutes for a pound steak. Then do a quick sear in butter to get a brown crust. Final product is medium/medium rare. 125 would probably work best for smaller steak like these to get more rare.

Bro, keep start using NOS(neurological overload sets) by Ben Pakulski, but with not fullrom but natural tempi negatives(according to exercise, they last usually less than second or more than second but less than 2 seconds) - with such negatives you will have a lot more pump, a lot more muscle damage and doing such negatives affects central nervous system a lot more.. of course you will do them with more resistance than fullrom ;D 80% of 1RM negative is like 40% of 1RM fullrom so.. :D I use such negatives in my NOS sets and its a lot more effective than doing NOS sets with fullrom :D some guys whom I told it see such results too and they do NOS sets with such negatives(they are only sensible negatives, longer with less resistance are nonsense for building strength(for strength its better too than fullrom - I speak from my experience and experience of people whom I gave that method(its about a lot more, but I would write about it on ptivate message or here if you will want)) and building muscle :D

I’ve got a muscle building/weight loss question: What would happen if I ate a certain amount of food/calories and never deviated from it, in regard to body composition and body fat percentage? Would my body remain at a body composition “set point” with extremely little body fat? For example, I’m 5’11”, weigh 225, and my bodyfat is 28%. (Best possible estimate I can get, using underwater bodyfat testing) I’ve been doing Carnivore 3 weeks, and have lost 24 pounds. I plan on weightlifting 5 days a week. (I had to quit several months ago due to injury, but will restart tomorrow, yay!!) I eat 19 ounces of cooked 80% lean hamburger per day, about 1600 calories. I’m NEVER hungry, and don’t want to eat anything more than this. So, theoretically, in a year (or less?) from now, will I just be totally ripped and weigh something like 175 with 10% or less bodyfat? My only goal is to feel good (I do!), and be healthy/athletic. My guess is that my body will eventually become more efficient at utilizing protein/fat, and I will stabilize at “some” weight, requiring significantly less calories than I do now to maintain my weight (which I estimated to be 3,000 calories per day.... though I know calories are an outdated concept as per Dr. Ken Berry..... it’s really about insulin, and how your body stores fat, utilizes your nutrients, metabolic pathways, etc.) I’m 45 now, and when I was younger I ate a TON of food to gain muscle. But now that I’m older, I really do NOT want to be a slave to food, and the less times and amount of food I have to eat, the better! So, any thoughts guys? Will I end up ripped, or having a wrecked metabolism? I should also mention I’m on TRT because something happened to my Endocrine system that the docs couldn’t figure out (years and years ago) and I take 75mg testosterone weekly because my body does not produce ANY naturally.... I never used any drugs or prescribed drugs regarding bodybuilding. So I’m guessing that I won’t LOSE any muscle despite having a calorie deficit.... at least not for many many months.

Your body will recomposition a certain amount, but that will not go on for very long. If body recomp was indefinite, then bodybuilders would not have the off seasons and on seasons they regularly go through. They would all just recomp. If you are doing carnivore, then you should eat till you are fully satiated. As you may have learned through Dr. Berry, Carnivore is a hormone regulating diet. Your hormones will tell you when more or less food is required based on the demands of your workload (both mental and physical, involving activity and structural repair). You will not usually require identical portions of the same amount of food from day to day. That’s why it can be beneficial to just eat till comfortable satiation. Planned portions are difficult to adjust on the fly, and this is just a good, better, best scenario. The planned portions are still good. I am sorry about your testosterone situation. I don’t have any input on that (not enough data for me to even have an opinion, nor am I educated in that area) I will say that I am glad you have that under control.

I’ve got a question for the doctor or anyone out there I am a healthy 52-year-old, 6’2 200 pounds. I work out 3 to 4 times a week and I got a blood test done through my doctor as I normally do and my cholesterol is 262, which is way too high. Do I eat gourmet burgers and pizza maybe a little too much, yes I do love steak I eat a lot of chicken. My question is my doctor obviously wants me to lean up on the meats and try to you know bring my cholesterol down before being put on a prescription drug, but I want to try this plan carnivorous diet plan which really goes against what my bloodwork says I need to do. I know I could probably stick to maybe pork a lot of fish and chicken which is not that exciting but if anybody has any suggestions of What I should do, or avenue I should take with the cholesterol level being that high. I feel very healthy I don’t have any joint problems, i would never know that my cholesterol was that high, but any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thank you

I really doubt it's harmful. As for what I personally do, there is some connective tissue that I eat just 'cuz it's there, and there's some connective tissue that is just completely not food. For example, I don't try to eat the connective tissue in flat iron steak.

I know this is a year old comment but I felt for answering it anyway. If you add a lot of dairy products to your diet you will most likely gain weight. The old fashioned bodybuilders had an idea that one gallon of milk per day would do the trick even for hard gainers.

Great-looking steak!!! Does anyone have any advice for postmenopausal women specifically? I am 63, 5 ft 1, 96 lbs, run a little and strength train a little and do yoga several times a week, but I get easily injured as soon as I try heavier weights (12# is pretty much my max per dumbbell for upper body), and I have difficulty eating more than 1700 cal a day (as measured by CarbManager; usually 75% fat, 20+% protein, the rest as carbs from dairy and, Okay, I admit it, a square of 85% Lindt dark chocolate a day). The real truth: people experience rapid muscle growth for the first 1-2 years of weight training. Then with improvements in diet and training, they can eek out slow muscle growth for an additional few years. Then it's basically over. They will only pack on so much muscle naturally. Once they're at or near their max, increasing calories or protein will add fat and muscle at an increasingly unfavorable ratio.

Its this simple, if your past family generations did not eat this way, you will have long term health issues. I have already tested the carnivore diet for 6 weeks. My workouts, enurance, testosterone, and muscle growth, is significantly better, with some plant foods in the diet, mainly cherries, apples, blueberries, occasional butter lettuce, and pistachios in my case. I mostly eat high fat high quality red meat, liver, and heart, far more then all other meats. My only beverage is meat broth(mostly beef broth). This, combined with the plant foods, has me feeling more superhuman, then any other way of eating. I know we all have different DNA codes, and need to eat differently from person to person. HOWEVER....I believe it is extremely important to avoid grains...especially wheat, and processed sugar based foods. I also choose to avoid most dairy...other then butter....and will never eat potatoes, beans etc.

@@shelley4417 Try, dark chocolate (70% minimum concentration) or a small amount of white rice but only do it on training days (1 hour before training), that will boost up the muscle glycogen, making a more intense training session and a faster recovery rate. It will temporary knock him out of ketosis but at the end of the day he will get back into it. He can also try taking a creatine monohydrate supplement since it helps with achieving bursts of speed and energy especially (activates phospagen pathway to produce ATP) during weight training or Hiit sessions. Organ meats should also help since they are complex natural foods that help the body maintain a higher metabolism and greatly increase exercise recovery (I eat Liver every other day).
