It is 10:30 PM. I have been outside creating the system since 8 o’clock this morning. I’m so excited about it. I have it all set up and the plants are in! I grew the plants in my aero garden. I used net cups and I used landscaping fabric inside of the net cup and entire bucket, and miracle grow potting soil. I set up a big all of the barrel beside it. For the water

good stuff larry im in central wis, been doing the same system for three years now. we just love it! the problem algae and mosquitoes is solved by capturing a few large tadpoles from a a pond and transplanting them into the gutters they will eat all the larvae and algae and grow into adult frogs. fun to watch them develop!

hey larry hall im a 21 and i live in puerto rico when i first saw the rain gutter idea i ignored it trying to build earth boxes but after a while of looking your videos i loved that idea more and more till i finally build one and let me tell you that when i build this i regreted every day that i didin't build it sooner this idea is amazing! and thank you so much for sharing this !

Thanks for the info. Just needed the flow values. You can also use this system to put in your chicken tractor, to water your chickens. My chickens love it, fresh water 24/7.

Larry... Way Cool! You mentioned in this video the possibilities of mosquito's. For my rain barrels I use goldfish from the pet store, and minnows from the bait shop. They both are cheap, environmentally safe, cheap and they love mosquito larvae. Again, Thank you, Larry

Really find your very ingenious rain gutter system to be awesome I'm in East Tennessee and have very small Yard and the dirt is actually red shale so can't do anything with it, this solves alot of issue for me. thanks for sharing

Hey, Larry. Thanks for sharing your great idea on the rain gutter system. However, I am having a problem plumbing the 1/4 inch barbed floats. I have built the gutter system and right now I am filling the gutters with a garden hose. Is there anyway you could explain how to connect the 1/4 inch barbed fittings and what fittings and tubing is best suited for the installation?

Dude!!! I have been reading how-to's for weeks and yours wins hands down. I only want to plant about 8 buckets and this is perfect. The question I have for you is: Do you recommend ONLY food grade buckets? I watched the video of people who had built this and it didn't appear that everyone used food grade. Just wondering. Thank you so much for the videos, it takes a lot of time and I for sure appreciate it.

we had to put your rain gutters on saw horses because of my back problems. it worked great and all the plants i could not grow due to water needs, i will now try next year. also check out a plant that you can make liquid fertilizer from named comfrey

I have couple questions, gonna build six of these and want to use one bucket feed to eliminate buying all the float valves as every time I check the price has gone up on them. First do they have 1\4 inch fitting to tap right into gutter ends without float and second if I do go with floats what size is hole to be drilled in end caps.Thanks I have watched all your stuff and I to smoke and can foods as well.

Hey Larry this is fantastic, I like the idea of putting a float attached to a rain barrel or something so you don't have to be watering every day. I'll try four (4) 5 ft units, 10 ft is too long so i'll cut the gutters in half. We buy our Calcium Chloride in 6 gallon buckets so I have tons of buckets. Also I like the idea of drilling holes on the buckets for aeration. I can get the float at any Hydroponic supplier I guess but I'm really impressed. Thanks for this wonderful idea. GIl

Can't I just water it from my hose? *Also, what size (height and width) do your grow your squash in? Besides your gutter can I use 1 - 5 gallon bucket and lid. Drill a hole in the lid for a wicking basket and additional holes on the lid and set inside bucket and 1 for the pvc pipe on the side with overflow hole about 3 inches up. Would that work for tomatoes? Thank you!

How do you reduce the 3/4" water hose to feed the 1/4" bar T for a daisy feeder?

Question Larry. If daisy chaining multiple gutters together, instead of buying a float for each one, why not use one float and come out of the opposite side of the gutter with a hose that goes into the next gutter? By doing this as long as each gutter was the same level the water level in each gutter would stay the same level as well.

Also where did you get you float shutoff valve in you rain trough and the cups in the bottom your buckets?

How do you make grow bags wick up in the gutter system? I know how you do it with plastic bucket and a net cup but not sure how to do it with a grow bag?

Hi Larry, Any suggestions for plants already in 20 inch ceramic pots with the rain gutters? I wish I saw this before I bought the pots which are suppose to produce dwarf trees. I am definitely going to tryi this with my veggies and have ordered some of the things that I need. Also, what about potting soil.. I use organic potting soil. I don't recall the name but its in yellow bag. Thanks for responding in advance.. water cost is my biggest expense and I am trying to figure this out early this year, being my secondyear.

Question. Do you ever grow things indoors? I need to know if planting in the winter can stunt the growth of plants even indoors?
