I personally think when looking over a used car follow your heart because no one knows..you could test drive it and love everything about the car..few hundred miles anything could give up. Good luck lads.😎

Hey this is really good to watch for a non mechanic like myself. These engines seem very overstressed to begin with and when you add in all the modifying I see this is not a venture for me! Thanks for the vid.

Hey how many miles did that have on it ?and if a 2013 sti that has 70k miles on it all stock besides a access port is a good idea to get . Also I am is Jersey near Newark

Used Wrx can be a super reliable car for hundreds of thousands of miles. However. It has to have been well maintained and continue to be well maintained. Run with a solid tune, quality gas and fresh oil that is topped off as needed.

@@redline350zHR Bought a 2013 WRX Hatch Rally Blue up in North Jersey from Marano & Sons Auto Sales in 2014 with 16664 miles on it. Took it to Subaru after purchase for them to check it out and they told me it was all good. Clearly there were some mods (turbo timer, AOS were the obvious ones) but wanted to make sure it didn't void any warranties and Subaru told me I was good. Little over a year later (outside of lemon laws) things started breaking down, tranny, oil consumption issues, etc. Of course Subaru then tells me hey there were some mods your warranty is voided. Even after I had them look at it. The longer I had it the more I noticed. Like the previous owner clearly had a front mount intercooler or something because they cut out the bumper cover to make room. Things I didn't know then. I knew the clutch was shot but didn't expect all of the additional work I'd have to do. Eventually had to do a total rebuild. Stage 2 now but took a lot of $ to get there. Still not confident with it.

@@viclavar9298 Damn im sorry to hear & i know how you must feel bc i absolutely love this car..It would kill me to go through all that especially with the dealership playing the typical games that most of them do. I just bought my 2011 WRX sedan 7 months ago with 41k miles all stock - and im one of the reallyyy particular types so i had to make sure everything was all good before i bought it too. Wish you continuous luck and good spirits with the car now/in the future 🙌😎

I agree. If you see a decently mod'd subie, it's definitely had a rough life. I wouldn't buy this. Not done with the video yet. But the zip ties... that's a no for me man.

i need help i just bought a used sti has no problem expect when im boosting or going over 140 all my lights on my dash pop up just wondering and my car wont even let me go pass 140 its sucks is it cause of a speed limiter all maybe loose fittings ?

Hey u seem like u know ur way around a subie. Do u knkw what causes this infamous decel noise? Thought it was the flywheel on my 11 wrx hatch so I swapped out the whole clutch to act heavy-duty w/ flywheel but it's still happening. I've looked through HOURS of forums and since 2002 it seems like a mystery that nobody has a fix for. The sound is a grinding noise only when decelerating from around 3k rpm to 2k. Throttling makes it stop and clutching in makes it stop.
