This is an excellent video. It summarizes in one concise video a bunch of information I had pieced together from many hours of reading on the web. Excellent Summary of fixture selection considerations including quality, types of faucets, shower trim kits needing to match shower valve (except for head), and type of shower valve to buy (pressure regulating). If you buy Delta, purchase from an authorized dealer and save the receipt because they offer a lifetime warranty. "Delta faucets purchased from authorized Delta sellers are warranted to the original consumer purchaser to be free from defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original consumer purchaser owns the home in which the faucet was first installed." I have used this warranty to get a free replacement after 15 years on my Delta shower control valve, and also a replacement of the metal hose on a Delta shower handheld spray attachment.

My husband is a plumber and he says that the fixtures at the box stores definitely has different internal components compares to the ones purchased at plumbing stores!

It's not so much that polished finishes are harder to clean so much as that brushed finishes are better for hiding dirt and water spots. With a polished finish, you will be able to see clearly if it's not completely clean.
