I need your help here I have 2004 freightliner Fl70 1 Axle not tandem GVWR 36000 The trailer 40ft Getar mead gooseneck weight empty 10000 the ticket is steer 7300 drive 9260 trailer axle 26220 total everything with the truck 42780 is this legal? thank you

I DON’T think so. Your truck is only rated for 36,000lbs?? IF that’s true, your 6,780lbs over your gross weight. I don’t have a lot of experience with a single drive axles. The rule of thumb, (with twin drive axles) is: 12,000 / 34,000 / 34,000 That’s the max…which equals 80,000 lbs.

It all depends on what your truck is registered for. Your using this truck for commercial work, right? Look at your “cab card”, your “apportioned registration” sheet from your state. It will tell you what your truck is registered to carry. For instance, mine is 80,000lbs. It’ll also tell you what your truck is rated for in ALL states.
