I saw the title and thought “oh this is gonna be a very short video”, haha. I barely do any work to them. Aglaonemas are amazing! Beautiful foliage and, the best of all, very easy going plants.

I agree with you about the Dieffenbachia. I’ve struggled with them. I had the same issues you did. The Aglaonemas are my favorite house plants. I have about 22 of them including First Diamond that looks a lot like Spring Snow. The leaves are narrower. Love your videos🤗💕 Happy holidays.

I lucked out in Fall and found a huge clearance sale on a selection of Costa Farms Aglaonema's at a Sam's Club and came home with 8 pants in different varieties and this was one of them. I love these plants and they thrive for me!! :D

You might need to check them for the plastic net pots (usually you can feel for them) had to liberate a few aglaonema from Costa Farms

and just like that, my dieffenbachia frost that died within the span of 2 days after being fine for months is getting replaced by an aglaonema (kept a few props but kind of want them to die as well)

I had a yellow leaf on mine and I threatened it saying something like 'dont you dare you little bitch' and since then it's been flourishing. I'm not saying it likes being spoken to like crap but it is rather a coincidence lol.

all aglaonemas, although their coloration might sometimes be similar to diffenbachia, have waxy smooth leave surfaces. diffenbachias generally have a rougher leaf texture. also diffenbachias have a more limited range of colors, white, green, yellow, grey, no reds, pinks

Another informative video, thanks Nick! The Bergs planter is gorgeous, of course, but for anyone who wants the look for less (I just had to buy a good 25-30 pots so Bergs were not happening for me!): IKEA currently has a green, glazed stoneware planters that looks similar called the Kamomill (6” and 7.5”).

Oh, I should add: they also carry bleached terracotta pots now! Woohoo! I prefer the white or bleached terracotta look to the more traditional, orangey-tone (although they’re nice too). I may have bought my local IKEA out 😂

if you have a really shady area, which i do, choose aglaonemas that have more green to allow them to photosynthesize in low light.

Hi Nick! I really like aglaonemas, but have had some trouble with them. I think it may have been the watering. I have one with pink in the leaves that is so pretty. I repotted it a while ago and found 2 plants in those little net pots and figured out that is the reason I lost so many leaves. Why do growers do that? It would be nice if there was a note somewhere on the tags saying they are in net pots and to repot as soon as possible. I used to have a dieffenbachia that did really good, but as the plant grew taller, the stem wasn't strong enough to support the plant and it would fall over. When it did that I would break off the top, put it in water until it rooted, then put it in soil. I did this for quite a few years, then decided I'd had enough of it. LOL! I do want to get some more aglaonemas. They are so pretty. Thank you so much for sharing!

Ohh I currently have 3 yellow leafs at the moment, It all started to happen 2 weeks ago or something. I live in Sweden its cold outside and dark most of the hours. The humidity is currently around 40%. I do run a Humidifier 24/7 almost but I cant handle the large living room. I am afraid the Aglaonema Emerald bay would not make it over the winter time. Any suggestions ? The meter is just above the dry sections at the bottom end of the humidity sections of my meter.

Hwy I'm brand new to plants and I just picked up one without a name tag, I googled it , it says Chinese evergreen. However I CnT find what type. It's really beautiful. White and Green. The green is very dark with these beautiful white ...stripes almost , not sure how to discribe it. Some leaves are both green and white stripped with more white some more green. One leave even has one side all green and the other the white and green. The newer leaves are all green. Also has this burgendy-ish colour up the stems , it really is absolutely beautiful. Can anyone help me figure out what type this is and proper care ????🤞

Put them near a window that gets 2-3 hours of sunlight. Use a soil that's fluffy with enough perlite. That's how I keep most of mine

@@liav4102 regular potting soil is low on perlite. The top soil can be dry to touch, while under the aglaonema roots, I had the soil remain almost swamp wet.

U mentioned there are many varieties of this same anglonina which looks exactly same then how can I differentiate which one I have.... secondly the leaves of my anglonina is not truning yellow but they are falling down. What to do
@eckehareckbert2731
@eckehareckbert2731 Жыл бұрын
Watch or Google for identification. Yellow leaves usually cause of overwatering. If soil is too wet place paper towel at bottom pot or sip out water or change soil to well draining soil meaning with perlite, orchid bark or perlite is fine. Make sure the soil is now bit dry or moist but too wet. Or check if leaves have pest or too much light, but since falling down, most likely overwatering. Then only water when soil is dry or use moisture meter. Usually for me I water only when meter says "dry 3"
