I feed mine once a day and they come to the surface and I can almost hand feed them! The bigger clown “bites” my hand when I’m cleaning the tank. Lol!

my houses temperature can get up around 84 degrees during the day, will the fish be okay? its a slow rise to it but i just get worried as im doing research to get clowns.

So I know how aggressive ocellaris can be to others of same but could you introduce pairs of different colors ocellaris in a larger 150-180g aquarium and be okay? Like maybe 3-4 pairs of different variants? There are some cool colorations out there like you showed. It would be too bad to be restricted to only one pair of your basic Nemo looking clownfish. Thanks dude. Keep bringing it.

I’m starting a 50 gallon saltwater tank. I’m planning on getting a pair of clownfish. But I want to add more fish and coral. Any suggestions for a beginner? It can be anything from fish, to crabs, to a anemone. Thanks. also a couple more questions. What’s the best canister filter? Should I get a refractometer or hydrometer?

Looking for opinions on what’s going on with my clown pair. I bought and introduced a da Vinci and a black ocellaris to my tank at the same and they paired up right away. I’ve had them for about a month now and suddenly the female has gotten aggressive towards the male. Is this normal? And should I do anything?

I have one frostbite clown that my friends are babysitting until I get my tank geared up. We are going to get another frostbite for a companion but I am wondering what other fish and invertebrates would go well with them. I have a 29 gallon tank and I don’t want to overcrowd so I was thinking maybe one smaller companion fish so it isn’t aggressive toward the clowns and two bottom feeders. Any suggestions?

Just got one died in 6 hrs. I dripped acclimated them and my water parameters were fine and tank has been running for 1 month or so.

So I set up my 1st tank about a month ago, picked out a pair of OC clowns. And yet despite "doing everything right" and all my parameters checking out good,1 died within 4 days and then the other died a couple days after that. Now my tank is empty 😥

U could add a bit more than two clownfish tap water is decent but using Reverse Osmosis Deionized Water should be better

I have Clownfish. I was scared just like other beginners to saltwater tanks. I find my saltwater tank so much easier to take care of than my freshwater tank.

Eric Lind I find that the water parameters do not fluctuate as easily in saltwater. That could be do to the difference in dishes bioload. I also find that it’s easier to fix poor water parameters.

@@joeyjonesaquatics507 Thanks. I'm on the fence about starting a salt water tank and I'm trying to learn what I can and hear other's experience. It sounds like your salt water is not heavily stocked which is always easier to manage in any tank. But I would think that a fresh water tank would easier to fix since you can just do a big water change. Not sure if that is doable with salt water tanks. Also with evaporation in a salt water tank, the salinity goes up so don't you have to constantly top it off? What would happen if you were away for say 2 weeks? Would it survive? Don't have this issue with fresh water.

Eric Lind It really depends on the issue and how bad the issue is. I had high phosphates and my coral was dying. Did a water change and by the next day it was opening up again. If you would like more info and opinions join the live streams every other Saturday morning at 8am PST. There will be lots of people who can share their experiences. I think you should definitely start a saltwater tank if you are ready to. It’s very beautiful, fun, and you expand your experience in the hobby. Keep me updated on your decision. 🤘👍

Hayden Wegner a hydrometer or refractometer will work for more accurate results but premade should already be in 1.020-1.026 range

I bought a clown fish acclimate him and placed him in my tank. He wasn’t active with the lights on but once they went off he was very active .. so I went to bed I woke up in the morning and there was no trace of him he was completely gone ... I started to look for him and realize I never found Nemo. Any ideas what happen to him?

I have a pair of clowns for about 4 years now and around last year they started having babies, around every 12 days. Its great to watch how they clear out an area on a rock or side wall and protect the eggs while the male fans them. Sadly I cannot catch the Larvae once the eggs hatch and feed them the Rotifers in a separate tank, so they all end up to die. I don't have the space or the time for this. Any ideas on how to get them to stop? Thanks

Depending on the size of the tank it should be 1 once a week for smaller tanks but it's better to be checked weekly anyways

I'd recommend neon gobies or firefish, and for inverts I'd say pepperment shrimp or snails.

Yes but make sure they dont bully the goby, gobies need a top on the tank as they are known to jump out of the tank...Also do ur water changes... and good filtration and you'll be fine

only for a short time remember they grow, they can get pretty big to, around 4" i would put one in no less then 15 gallon preferably more

I say that’s okay but some say otherwise. I wouldn’t keep them in a 10 if they’re full grown though. You’ll be good with a 20 gallon. 👍

Great videos! But I have one concern I have 2 tanks a 75 with one pair and a 40 with a trio .. I can’t stick my hands in there for maintenance without the males biting me non stop ! I’m ready to get rid of them is there anything that can be done to stop the biting !

I role 2 clowns, a small yellow tang, a small red stripe dwarf angel, a mandarin(added few months after up and running) and a diamond goby. Plenty of clean up crew as well (: Perfect balance for my 65.

I personally prefer small fish with bright colors. You could also go with a clownfish pair, a yellow or small tang (definitely not blue/Dory), some gobies (yellow Watchman or firefish), a chromos or azure damselfish and inverts

just set up my first saltwater aquarium and its not that much more then freshwater. in fact i used almost all the same equipment filter ,heater, powerhead, ect. the only thing u relay need different is salt and if you stock low (means less water changes) and get around a 30 gallon aquarium a 50 gallon bag of salt (around 12$ - 20$) can last a coup of mouths. ps i use tap water with dechlorinator. no ro water needed

In Vietnam, they are expensive, much more expensive than freshwater, anh not all fish store have them, only the big one.
