You do great videos, very informative. Wait til you program that cnc to cut a neck profile. Enjoyed watching the whole series between the body and neck.

I like the way you build guitars. I think you and Shock the Fox make beautiful guitars with such nice aesthetics and I like the accuracy and thought you guys put into them.

I think the neck set is the scariest part of guitar building.

I'm interested to see what you think about that glue for the neck joint. I run into the problem of buying titebond in bulk and not getting to use it all as I don't get to do woodworking as often as I'd like. The option of mixing your own is appealing to me.
@eworcustomguitars2 жыл бұрын
So far I really like that glue. They say it has a superior bond vs other titebond type glues. It takes a bit of extra time to mix it but if it is better than I think the extra time is worthwhile
@T0tenkampf Жыл бұрын
"Titebond" type glues are 3 different formulations entirely....if you notice that they don't dry hard or all the way then you may have not been using the original formula which is the best for luthiery imo. I am going to get some of that Ultra CAT to try the next time I buy veneers.
@eworcustomguitars Жыл бұрын
I am really liking the ultra cat except for throwing away a little glue every time I use it.
@T0tenkampf Жыл бұрын
@@eworcustomguitars have you tried it for the entire guitar or just the neck joint?
@eworcustomguitars Жыл бұрын
@@T0tenkampf I have used ultra cat on everything on the last couple of guitars. I buy it from an online seller veneersupplies.com. He has a good explanation of the glue there.

@@eworcustomguitars yeah I saw that, I like his honesty on why it is so expensive over the last 2 years. I make hippie sandwich type guitars so will be ordering from them.

That glue looks alot like cascamite glue and you always end up to throwing loads away because you mix up too much. Not sure how much you had left over but If I could suggest using tea spoons as a measure and mix by eye to the consistency you need, cascamite you could make thin or thick to gap fill and is an excellent wood glue
@eworcustomguitars2 жыл бұрын
Yes I definitely need to reduce the amount I am mixing. I probably threw out 2/3 of what I mixed.
@T0tenkampf Жыл бұрын
From the website "It is a derivative of Cascamite and has a non-evaporative curing process"

Does the PPR glue talk about creep?
@eworcustomguitars Жыл бұрын
Yes, it says it drys hard enough that it doesn’t allow veneer creep,

Not trying to be a smart a** but a liquid/fluid oz. Isn't the same, as a dry oz. A gallon of water weighs 8 lbs. You could weigh an oz of water, then multiply by .75 for your 3/4 oz. (Aircraft fuel isn't measured in gallons, it's measured by weight. A gallon of gas or JP5 both weigh 6 lbs. Water, milk, & my Telecaster all weigh 8 lbs. A liquid gallon is 128 oz [learned that making formula for my grandkids].i could be wrong about the weight as 8 lbs is 128 oz too. So maybe they are the same. But I'd check. Math is hard.😂😂😂😂😂) yet 128 oz of gasoline is 6 lbs.
@T0tenkampf Жыл бұрын
I gallon of milk is actually heavier than a gallon of water but your point is valid if it were applicable to what he did. He used the EXACT instructions supplied by the mfg which includes the use of both dry and liquid weights.
