Thanks for the helpful video. Clear and concise and a true saver for a beginner knitter here when I reached the end of my project and said "uh oh!"

I recently started knitting. I do a lot of 2 x ribbing as I make little hats for premature babies. I am going to try this new cast-off straight away and hope it looks as good as yours Hannah. Many thanks for all the effort you make to give these videos for everyone. 💐 EDIT: FANTASTIC CAST OFF FOR RIBBING, SO MUCH BETTER THAN THE USUAL KNIT WISE CAST OFF. MY PREM BABY HATS LOOK SO MUCH BETTER - THANK YOU HANNAH 🥰

Oh how simple , been messing with all the various cast offs and I knew it needed to be in pattern because I do not wish to have that last cast off row twisted, I think the difference was bringing the yarn to the back , I was not doing that and lacking the ease I needed for sock cuffs x

I'm very new to the world of knitting, and I'm doing all my learning via KZfaq. This way you find out the little tips and tricks people use, which may not be in any books. I'm even encouraging my knitting group to learn things by sending them youtube links 😁 I absolutely love knitting, and look forward to learning new things, free of charge !

Help knitting a pinafore dress don’t understand pattern for dividing front and straps Cast off 13 sts evenly in rib same row knit 15 in rib including st left on needle after castoff Help
@KnitWithHannah Жыл бұрын
Once you've cast off about half the stitches (13) you carry on in the rib across the rest of the row (15) . If you need more support there may be a knitter near you in a yarn shop or a neighbour who can look more closely. Happy knitting 🧶

Oh blimey. You are right Hannah I’ve made a pigs ear of my 2x2 cast off ☹️
@KnitWithHannah2 жыл бұрын
If you feel confident enough, you can undo the last stitch and unravel one at a time, putting each stitch back on the needles one at a time. Then cast off again. I’ve done this before and it’s easier than it sounds. Happy knitting 🧶

@@KnitWithHannah that’s waaaayyyyy to confusing. It’s taken about 4 goes of me doing a rib? button band and it’s still wrong. I had to get someone in the knitting group to unpick the whole rib cos I was mucking it up 3 times. I forgot to ask her which row she unpicked to and I forgot and I was knitting the wrong rows when I got home lol. I’ve go to ask for help with the button hole band now.

@@PrincessNottingham good idea to get someone’s help if your struggling. If you’d like to understand more about how they’re fixing it these two videos will help: (I’ll link them below) 👇🏻
