Just seen this very helpful thank u but my pattern is asking for T3F and T3B on one row and then C4B next but one row what is the point of doing both if they both move stitches around why not stick to just one or the other thank you for your advice
@KnitWithHannahСағат бұрын
I imagine the c4b is when the twists meet each other in the middle and the single cable crosses them over. If you’re in the membership, you can send images of the pattern and your knitting and I’ll be able to tell with more accuracy. Happy knitting 🧶

As a new self-taught knitter, I was working away on my first scarf in stockinette stitch when I turned it over to the "wrong" side and discovered I liked it better than the right side! I'm using a variegated yarn so the wrong side actually looks woven. Before this I was working on a color block scarf in garter stitch - and like you, Hannah, I really liked those "dashes" that appear on the wrong side when changing color. I thought they were quite decorative, or could be. I don't know why so many knitters seem to dislike them. So I loved this video, thank you!

Absolutely the best tutorial for this type of knitting. I have looked at so many videos, read explanations in several books, and nothing compares to the ease of understanding what each hand is doing. Thank you so much and now I have to sign up for your newsletter and classes as well!

Local knitting shops or craft shops will have them. Also many onling shops will. Take a look in Google you'll find some easily. Here's some tips on which ones to start with: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/g7eSasWbuaremZs.html happy knitting 🧶

Hi. My favourite cast on is also a knitted cast on. It is called the Chinese Waitress Cast On (can be found on KZfaq). The easiest way to do it is with one needle and a crochet hook (it can be done wth two needles, but isnt nearly as easy). It produces the loveliest edge I've ever seen - a gorgeous double chain.

I'm from Morocco and watched my late mom knit with my her friends and family during the afternoons while drinkinng mint tea and house baked cookies or cake... I never new there was any other rechnique for knitting other than the English style... I don't even remember being taught how to knit.... I've always knitted the English way , but holding the needles like you did the second time; only I do it in a more relaxed way. I prefer learning new stiches from those who use the English technique....
@KnitWithHannah7 күн бұрын
I only knew this style too when I was learning. The lack of 'English' style knitters on KZfaq was a big draw to beginning this channel - so happy you're finding it helpful! happy knitting 🧶

@KnitWithHannah16 күн бұрын
Hi Carole, thanks for your comment. Please know that greed is not the intention with this or very likely any other KZfaq memberships. All the free KZfaq videos will still be here regularly, it’s just as if I was running an ongoing knit-along or membership outside of KZfaq. Nothing will change here, but the option is there to support the channel and business and find extra individual support with your current knits with this membership or indeed learn more knitting skills with the courses, patterns and knit-alongs that I’ve been running since 2017. All the best and happy knitting 🧶

What about sl 2 wyif at the very start of a ws row?
@KnitWithHannah19 күн бұрын
Consider it as slip one, slip one, without moving the yarn between slipping. The last stitch from the previous row will anchor the yarn in place. This video shows that it's not unusual to do more than one slip stitch one after the other in patterns: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/m8VxjK-lmZjVpWQ.html Happy knitting 🧶 P.S. I like your avatar very much!

what does a pattern mean when it says ending with a rs row when doing a raglan jumper. Do you finish on the wrongside with the tail piece on your left side.
@KnitWithHannah19 күн бұрын
Ending with a rs, means the last row is right side. So if "ending with a rs, then cast off" or similar, the last row before casting off will be right side, and if you look at the piece from the right side, you'll have finished the row and the yarn tail will be on the left. Next instruction will be with wrong side facing and tail on right. Happy knitting 🧶
