Want to catch more redfish, speckled trout, snook, and flounder in less time? Want to know how the pros use tides and trends to catch inshore slams fast?
Then you're going to love this shortcut to finding new spots.
In this Salt Strong fishing tutorial, Luke Simonds reveals some shortcuts he uses to find new redfish and trout spots in new areas.
The best news is that a big portion of finding new saltwater inshore fishing spots can be done from home (using satellite maps, tide charts, etc).
And as you'll see in this video, when you find the 10% zone (where 90% of the feeding fish are), it can become incredibly easy to catch inshore slams fast (even with artificial lures).
Have any questions about catching saltwater inshore slams (redfish, speckled trout, snook, and flounder)? Let us know in the comments below!

Clearly a really good spot. Current + bait + structure = fish. Following up the topwater strikes with subsurface bait was key. Reds love to pick things up off the bottom, Snook & trout will do it at times too. I managed a grand slam (trout, red, Snook & tarpon) in a similar time frame off one little island in ENP. My first tarpon broke me off or else I would have happened even faster. The planets aligned for an epic day - thankfully I had my GoPro to record the whole thing and put the video on my channel. We knew the fish were there because the day before my buddy stumbled upon this spot while waiting for a storm to pass. The action was so good we returned the day and double slammed. We had fished the spot before and gotten few small snook, but on this day it was nonstop multiple species action.

As you well know zman baits float. So when it’s “sitting” on the bottom it’s not sitting still. I especially like to use something with gold flakes, the reds will go for it.

Another great video. What power/action rods were you using there?
@Saltstrong
@Saltstrong 4 жыл бұрын
I always use fast action rods, and I'll use Medium Heavy on most brands except for TFO (medium) and the St. Croix E6X (heavy) since the different brands have different power rating systems. Here's a link to see the rods I've tested and reviewed so far: www.saltstrong.com/article_categories/fishing-rods/

When you say you were seeing a good amount of bait what exactly were you seeing? Jumping mullet or something else? I've never had luck casting to jumping mullet but maybe I'm doing something wrong
@Saltstrong
@Saltstrong 4 жыл бұрын
Yes, the mullet schools are primarily what I was looking for (along with flashing pinfish and pilchards). The reds and snook will often he hanging around the food and activity.
